I have been an MU fan my whole life. I have been a UT fan since the early 90's. I have been in Knoxville since 2000. If UT screws this hire up, and I'm sure they will. I'm over it.

I will request a name change to MIZ-ZOU.

Currie has got to go.

No worries, lots of those floating around.
Couple of beers on me if this all works out. I have three women in my life (wife + two girls), so I can't be as flashy as a lot of these other jokers. :p

Edit: I drank all my wife's white zin today out of desperation and now I'm in real deep (*$&(*#$^. Five more boxes incoming tomorrow so I can weather this storm. :eek:lol:

I think it is safe to say that Curries lauded 340M in upgrades will not be happening as scheduled. So many people on twitter posting that they can no longer find their wallet. Some small donors ($2500/yr), some much larger.

Currie and anyone who enabled him has done tremendous damage this day. I think it can be reversed, but the status quo at UT cannot continue to hold the reigns.

You’re concern is absolutely warranted with him being the head of the board. That’s why the other BoT members normally don’t go against him...he is the damn governor. Which is why I was told the boosters must whip up the votes to gain a majority and they must influence the BoT that their way is the right way.

In regards to Beavers tweet. Let me further elaborate.

For years Haslam has gotten his way bc he can hand over tens of millions of dollars for any said project. He loves the power. UT is currently more concerned with building upgrades and fund raising than they are building a championship football program. (Ironically that would bring in a ton of money on its own).

If Haslam is to be stripped of his power and influence, the other boosters must cover what UT would be losing from Haslam.

Here are the questions that will be answered in the weeks to come...

1.Can the boosters organize and out Haslam?
2. Can they influence the BoT that they’ll cover the financial loss of Haslam?
3. Can they influence a vote of the BoT to go against the governor and Haslam family to vote out Currie?
4. Can this be done in time to get a new AD and get a quality coach to secure the future of UT and salvage this recruiting class. (Yes gruden could still be in play if all of the above happens).

Power is one hell of a drug

1) probably not.
2) almost assuredly not, as you're looking at a billion dollar endowment at some point. Academics will not allow that to go away over a football hire.
3) Governor Haslam is the head of the BoT and DiPetrio/Davenport work for him.
4) I honestly feel like this is a multi-year mistake and we're set back for another 3-4 years barring a miracle.

I keep going back to the report of Larry during the game last night basically saying ‘whereTF is Currie? He left and nobody knows where he went.’

It worried me then and for good reason apparently. People that should’ve known, didn’t. Time to take this program back. Currie won’t survive this.

I forgot about that. I remember thinking it was weird. Thanks for bringing that back up.
And whoever it was that someone said waited until Currie left then told someone where he was going needs to be thanked. Otherwise Currie would have come back with him and had a press conference.

It can be reversed. Just certain actions need to be done.
