Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIII

I've never quite got the hatred for them. They are a big part of the reason we have what we have at UT, beyond athletics. They are not to blame for Gruden not taking the job either. My gosh, he's paying the entire Jones buyout and lent his resources to court Gruden. People are basically like "give us your xxx millions of dollars and stay away Haslam family."

Go to bed Jimmy, it's over.

Fullmer and Manning both knew of the situation surrounding Schaino. Manning was calling VFLs trying to sell the deal this morning. This has been a terrible day for the University.

Okay buh. First time stopping by this thread and all of a sudden you know who is on Peyton’s speed dial. I believe you.

Or better yet we will hear Haslam has proposed giving Currie a raise and the field will now be called pilot field. Heck at this point, may as well expect this and if it doesn't happen we can celebrate a victory on volnation. Time for the fans to go to WAR against the inner click that is trying to control everything. By that I mean voicing the displeasure loud and clear in one BIG ORANGE VOICE!

Don’t get it - aren’t the Haslam’s fans of bringing back football glory? Why would they continue to sabotage coaching hires?

And if they are - how are the continuing to get away with it? Seems the protests may be happening at the wrong place.

The haslams haven’t got a clue how to bring back football glory!!! See Cleveland Browns if you want proof

Stop it. If Gruden signed on the 14th why this Schiano fiasco? I'm guessing now you're just joking around?

If you guys don’t want to hear what he says, don’t read it or go to another thread. Exile has been constant. You do you and go talk about what ever you want!

I'm not so sure Schiano wouldn't be a decent coach. He's tough and has a nasty edge to him...that we sorely need. Teams try to down the ball in victory formation and he tells his defense to smack em in the face. I actually like that. But....I have big doubts in his ability to recruit. Don't see families wanting to send their kid under his "care"..with the PSU stuff AND his rep for nastiness. Recruiting is HUGE. I think we would suffer big time under Schiano. That's something dumbazz Currie didn't consider obviously.

You live with your mother. You are bi-curious yet do not have a boyfriend or a girlfriend and you get your jollies by acting like you know something on Volnation.com. Stop.

You know that point when you should stop drinking?

You passed it about an hour ago.

If Gruden really wants it, he could just release a statement right now and this whole thing would be taken care of by Tuesday.

He has to see that Haslam and his cronies have sincerely recieved the message. No coach worth mentioning is gonna take this job because of the influence Haslam has on the program. It's simple career suicide.

It's well known in coaching circles. UT had the better shot at Mullen over UF and the money. I'll tell ya one thing you can take to the bank, Lane Kiffin would make it a point to tell Haslam where to go immediately. Several coaches have that demeanor about them and Haslam avoids them.

Other schools fire coaches and hire usually an upgrade but not Tennessee! We only do things the crappiest and most public ways possible. I'm concerned that too many things have to happen to get Currie out and remove Haslam from power. We were led to believe these things were already set in motion when it appears that it's just now being organized. So Beaver was lying about that from the beginning about this elaborate five year in the making plan... this is like trying to take down Goliath. And why does it take a damn BOT vote to fire the AD for what he did today?! What other university makes decisions in such a ridiculous manner?!

Certainly his actions can be seen as detrimental to the university, no? If the right folks agree to it, he will be gone. No need to overcomplicate it.

Firing someone is always complicated.

All I can say is, what I've been saying, we need continue to express ourselves. We're being heard more now than ever before.
