I think there is little chance it happens now unless Currie is fired or is castrated of power.

Barring any crazy influence from a family we know and love, who in your opinion would be in line to act as interim AD when Currie gets removed?

I don't always agree with the information you bring here, but at least you do it with a level of professionalism and maturity that is to be expected. A few more could probably learn from you.

Well if that doesn't rate a :hi:, I don't know what does!

This is going to get good. Booster war. Surely we suspend the coaching search till the war is over.

If the Boosters have balls they will make a stand of all stands. I guarantee they have almost full backing of Tennessee fans all across this great state and nationwide. The fans are the program and the University needs to be sent that message, one way or the other!

We know there was mutual interest between Gruden and Tennessee. I just cannot believe Gruden would troll this fan base the way he did on the Seattle radio interview and on other occasions if he didn't want the job.

And as recently as this morning, CBS Sports reported UT was talking to Gruden. CBS isn't some fly-by-night media company. Their info should've been solid.

But obviously Gruden is off the table or Schiano would've never been offered. How the hell did we go from Gruden to Schiano?? Ah, the million dollar question. :(

So just because they donate lots of money they should control everything? That sounds like dirty scratch my back and I'll scratch yours politics to me. They absolutely should stay away from all athletic involvement. Let people that were hired to do their job do it. The issue here is that we seem to have wasted two weeks to hire this bozo when we could have actually been performing a legit coaching search.

Welcome to this thing we call the real world. If you're laying out a quarter of a billion dollars to any cause, your voice will be heard. There's not dirty politics about it. The narrative that the family who has given massively to the University has these evil plans to keep football awful is, frankly, insane.

Not if he denies pursuing Schiano and states that the media ran with a story based on inaccurate info. "I did not have negotiations with that man, Greg Schiano"

He can't deny that. He was in Columbus to have the contract signed. MOU had already been signed. Haslam is behind this. The reason is the old guard is gonna be ran out of UT athletics. It's obvious they want to control that huge amount of revenue 1st and foremost. They could actually care less about winning if that cashflow continues. Sad but true.

The man who played for General Neyland and has given a couple of hundred million dollars to UT doesn't own the Browns. His son does. Big Jim is the man who is constantly accused of being an old power monger who loves throwing 10s of millions of dollars at UT to make sure it's mediocre.

Jimmy is the owner of the Browns. He only gives UT 5-10 million dollars a year most years. He's the one who can't get the Browns winning. It's a real shame because they were winning at the highest level before he bought them.

Bill, the Gov of Tennessee, is the head of the BoT and gives the University around 2 million per year last I saw. He's Big Jim's younger son.
Yes I knew all of that and stand by what I said, I don’t care how many millions they donate.
The Vols of the last 20 years and the Browns after he bought them proves it. It’s fact .

CBS was rehashing the story that guys like Wallace and Brice reported weeks ago. I fully believe that Gruden said no this time. I don't know why, because I believe he was made a huge offer as had been reported. You can't make the guy take the job though.

I think Gruden has genuine interest in the job and has been talked to. But I think he may also have been used as smoke by Currie. Sadly.

I don’t know. There are others who are more connected to the actual athletic department than I am. Little Jim will come out looking really bad in this.

There is a lot of money thrown around in Tennessee politics by the same people who are mid to high level boosters of UT. I’d be willing to bet that this has some serious political fallout for the Haslam family as well.

Call me crazy but maybe Gruden didn't want to work for/with Currie no matter how much you paid him.
