No..not elitists...just wanted a place to crash when this thread goes bye-bye...Anyway none of us think Gruden is coming, and didn't want to argue with, or put anybody down that still does. :hi:

I know Ulysees. I don't blame you. The attitude in here has changed.

Hubbs newest report sure sounds like the ball is in Gundy's court and he has until Thursday to decide. I hope that's wrong

Where is all of that info coming from though? I haven't seen that reported anywhere.

It hasnt been reported at all.

And if there was merit to it, do you not think that the AD would leak the information to the media so to put the Volunteer Nation on notice that the heralded savoir of the program was toying with UT.

Which if true and leaked to the media and reported by the media would have generated a ground swell of support and approval of/for Hart, the AD and UT as a whole. And Tennessee fans would have looked upon Gruden with disdain and rallied behind Hart and his efforts.

Then the VolNation would have moved forward in lockstep with the AD!!!!

I'd just really be shocked if he left OSU. That's his dream job. Idk how I'd feel if he only came for the money. There's only so much passion money can birth.

He told his team today he was involved with us and Arkansas. He is being very open about this for a reason. I think we all Know what that reason is

again, I want to point out that Hubbs info has be conflicting and flat out denied in most cases along this coaching search, take everything knox media says with a grain of salt. Nothing here has been confirmed by a known or reliable source.

Not doubting you, but is there a link to that?

That's pretty up-front, and (honestly) kinda odd for a coach to admit.

I kinda agree. Let's not forget OSU has the wealthiest booster around. This feels like a situation where he entertains offers just to get a raise at his current gig. Plus OSU is his alma mater.

Thank you for some great insight coming from a long time vols fan and some history as well. I wasn't really speaking to monetary support so much as faith and loyalty. I am in no position to afford season tickets, but I go to what games I can. Eventhough I can't spend my money to watch football, I will still cheer for them and defend them. Besides I will be making my monetary contributions over the next 30 years to the university...Student loans, emergency appendectomy at UT medical and my son was born at UT medical in June...

Hey, I'm pissed at the condition of the program, but a fellow VFL. I have had season tickets since '75 and will renew. Why? Because my son will be a freshman. I live in Alabama, and grew up here. My early days were plagued with Bear Bryant.

See, back then, with only 3 channels , you didn't get to see your team on TV except maybe once a year. To get a glimpse of the VOLS , I had to watch the Bear Bryant show on Sundays. Talk about torture. Eating golden flake potato chips and drinking cokes. (Bellywash as Bear called it).

Here's a link where Bear tells the story of his kid getting airsickness and him saying " wait and puke when you get over Knoxville. My feelings towards the Tide were galvanized back then.
