Rule applies to coaches and terminated coaches.

Goodell has ruled the NFL with an iron fist and with all the talk of Gruden and his coaching expectations most analysts were saying Gruden would coach in the pros in 2013. Additionally it was well reported he was speaking to current NFL coaches!!!

NFL has taken draft picks away for HC's talking about another player from another club!!!

I'm not even saying "I told you so." Just stating why Strong's a good hire.

Because Kingston is one of those guys who bought into the Grumors a bit because he has a friend at Bama that said it was going to happen. And now that it's not he's in here mocking other Vol fans. He's not the only one and I think it's weak and pathetic to do that. The "I told you so" thing vs. your fellow fans is ugly and uncalled for. Especially from someone who had "sources" at one point calling Gruden to UT in this very forum. That's why.

And I agree with you, Strong would be a good hire. Gruden would be a great hire.

How is this any different from Strong? Except, Strong has only had one decent year.

Strong is a proven coordinator, people forget his defense was what won the NC in 06, and 08. He has been listed as the assistant coach of the year, which CHAVIS has won as well, and has been listed as recruiter of the year multiple times. He took Louisville and made then 10-2 and playing a BCS bowl game with South Florida players who had no business in Kentucky. He will do great here with the resources. He was always an SEC guy.

Gruden wanted to come to UT. His wife wanted to move back. We were very close to getting Gruden. But Dave Hart dropped the ball.

Can't we all just get along?? Seriously, folks. We are about to recruit like UT hasn't seen in a long time, and sooner rather than later we will be competing for the East under Coach Strong. This is a very good hire. Some of the hate in this forum is just ridiculous. I guarantee you once we start winning again, you'll all forget about what's his face. Relax, get behind the coach, and prepare for a STRONG national signing day, because it's coming...

You make a valid point. I should have not said that in regards to switching allegiences. They don't care about me that's true, and since they are 1000 miles away, there is little chance of me supporting them either. They beat Bama this year, which is is something I don't see us doing anytime soon without a BIG hire.....and I don't just mean Gruden.

Strong is small time thinking, which seems to be the mold we are stuck in, and I'm tired of it. I still don't believe it, but if it happens to come to fruition I believe it signals a continuation of mediocrity. Nobody here can seriously say Charlie Strong is the type of coach to go head to head with Nick Saban and have us on equal footing with Bama.

I unreservedly apologize for what I said, it was bush league. I love the Vols, but despise our leadership right now from top to bottom. I'm not alone in this.....many active letterman of various sports agree. It's a mess.

I've backtracked and apologized now, so all of you gloating trolls feel free to flame away. I'm mispoke, and am broad enough between the shoulders to take my lumps.

When this thing breaks the other way on you, be man enough to take what gets dished back out.
