Can't we all just get along?? Seriously, folks. We are about to recruit like UT hasn't seen in a long time, and sooner rather than later we will be competing for the East under Coach Strong. This is a very good hire. Some of the hate in this forum is just ridiculous. I guarantee you once we start winning again, you'll all forget about what's his face. Relax, get behind the coach, and prepare for a STRONG national signing day, because it's coming...

Wrong forum.....

Its amazing that UT fans are so used to Mediocrity that we are STILL ok with hiring a guy like Strong and we shouldnt expect anything more.............LOLOLOL

What does CDD have to do with us continuing to be bottom feeders if we hire Strong? Just asking..

Do you think Strong is better than Saban, Miles, Spurrier,
Franklin.... Should I continue down the list...

Richt, Muschamp, Mullen, Sumlin. So that basically leaves Freeze and the new coaches who Strong only has a leg up on Stoops and Malzahn as far as resume. Great hire.

Because Kingston is one of those guys who bought into the Grumors a bit because he has a friend at Bama that said it was going to happen. And now that it's not he's in here mocking other Vol fans. He's not the only one and I think it's weak and pathetic to do that. The "I told you so" thing vs. your fellow fans is ugly and uncalled for. Especially from someone who had "sources" at one point calling Gruden to UT in this very forum. That's why.

And I agree with you, Strong would be a good hire. Gruden would be a great hire.

Fair enough.

And Strong could turn into a great hire. A lot of these people will be eating crow over the next couple months. NSD is going to be fun.

Hart has been a name; a 'pawn', if you will. Keeping up appearances and staying in the spotlight.
While he's "seen in Oklahoma" or "just landing in Florida" it's giving the necessary time and (I HATE using this word) "screening" for things to 'fall into place'.

Sorry. I hate using ''s and what not, but I really can't say too much.

And after the Arkansas announcement, I got a text saying "Looks like it could be sooner than we thought"

Boomer, if the timing is being moved up dramatically because of the events of the day, then do you think that Strong is the one that is going to look like we are "so close" to making the announcement on, then we don't? A TON of buzz around Strong right now, and Skeeter said he thinks it is done (to paraphrase). It sounds like Strong will be announced in the next 24 hours.

How can you compare these coaches to him when he is not playing in the SEC with this team's talent?

It's amazing to think how if Gruden came, CP's grades become a magical 4.0 too.

I just don't like strong something about him strikes me the wrong way. Seems like a Dooley attitude but with the added pleasure if flashing the race card. Before anyone calls Jesse, Dungy would be my perfect home run hire. I would rather go back to Phil bring in someone like Chad Morris and develop him for a few years for the position.

Hypothetical: UT makes public unofficial offer to Strong, fully awar that UL will match and exceed any offer they make, then they pull out of bidding war. This would feed smokescreen theory and be reason why Strong was #1 target, because UT knew UL would outbid them and would give them an out and reason to go again to Gruden with all out effort making Hart the hero.
Not at all saying this is what is happening, just popped in my head.

Strong is a proven coordinator, people forget his defense was what won the NC in 06, and 08. He has been listed as the assistant coach of the year, which CHAVIS has won as well, and has been listed as recruiter of the year multiple times. He took Louisville and made then 10-2 and playing a BCS bowl game with South Florida players who had no business in Kentucky. He will do great here with the resources. He was always an SEC guy.

Yet despite a half-dozen interviews, UL was the only team willing to give him a chance?
