Strong is the coach we should have hired to replace Kiffin. Strong is not the coach we need to replace Dooley.

If the rumors are true that Hart botched this, then if we can't have Gruden now, , I say name Fulmer intirum head coach for a year or two if he'd be willing, and get Gruden next year.....and then let Fulmer replace that punk from Bama as AD......

Of course if the smokescreen pipedream is true, and Hart really does have Gruden, then I'll put Hart on my BFF list pronto....

LaMonte was Hargis 3rd source, but was not used in the newspaper accounts. And yes, I would take Hargis' word over any of the media mouths out of K-Town at the moment.

I posted earlier that Louisville was trying to decide if they wanted to or could match the offer. Any hint from the bluegrass state that indeed might happen??

I doubt very seriously that "matching" the HC salary is what it will take on Louisville's end. All of these candidates make good money and will only get small raises coming to Tenn (except Mora). The issue is that Tenn will significantly raise the bar on what can be done staff-wise. Don't underestimate this very significant factor. Not to mention facilities, etc.

Thank you. Exactly what I was trying to say. Now is not the time for a strong type hire. UT needs a home run type hire. One that shakes the foundations of the college football world.

A stupid amount? Considering his buyout is like 3M, I think they could pay 4m/year and keep him, if we outbid that, we are dumb, that would be 4m+buyout, so like almost 5 m a year for a 2m coach.

That is why this is smoke... doesnt make sense..his buyout plus his contract is nonsense. if it was a better coach i could see it, but not charlie strong, the guy that has been rejected by errbody

You may believe your source(s) 100%, but that's different from you knowing 100% what is going to happen. I saw that moment of panic in your post. I get it and am not trying to get you mad.

You're sticking to your guns, but you're not 100% sure there's any ammo in them.

You are mistaken. But that is your choice.

What you saw out if me was frustration at being hounded, accused, and called everything but a son of God for the better part of the last 3 months over some information I brought to a fanbased message board. That is all. I lost my cool, and was out of line.

Doesn't seem like they are trying to decide anything. Again the Strong rumor has been good for him. But I don't think he will be coming to UT.

If they don't match the minuscule difference it'll be because they won't think he's worth it. IMO he's not.
