Official Jon Gruden Thread XV

I've been cautiously optimistic since Gruden XII (even got some info from a Knoxville Cumberland Ave bar manager that I shared, turned out to be a little off). But I'm back in! Gruden or Bust 2013!

Could Strong/Gundy/Fedora be the "list of three" that Basilio posted about a few weeks ago?

Anything is possible. The funny thing about slices post was it was exactly what I have been saying word for word about gruden. I have been slammed saying that we have met every demand of his and kept changing them. His post put the clear blame on gruden just like I have been since Friday.

Many in the media have been saying that money would not be the issue that held up Gruden to Tennessee.

My own personal feeling is that it's power. I think Gruden wants some kind of quasi-AD powers over the football program and Hart doesnt want to give them up. Again, that's all just my opinion.

I have a very bad feeling that when Hart gave his press conference, he was very confident in getting Gruden. Then 11/30 happened. Ever since he's been running around trying to find a replacement.

At this point we are either witnessing the most elaborate smokescreen of all time or we are truly getting screwed. As for me, I never understood the need for smokescreens.

If this story is playing out like we want it to, then LaMonte's report friday was the ultimate way of creating methodical madness.

Don't estimate Hart's ability to screw tis up. He's done a stellar job. And then you have the rest of the Vol fans hoping we fail so they can play the told you so card. Sickening.

What the eff is the obsession with the I told you so's? If they don't hire Strong, I am not busting in there to gloat.

This is where I'm at. It's either we are great or we are screwed. There is no gray.

It is disconcerting if Gruden still hasn't made up his mind.

If my info was right we certainly wouldn't expect him to change his mind back to us. A call might have been made saying "we have a candidate in place and we are officially offering him the job unless you give us reason not to". That's best case IMO

I dont think there are a lot of Vol fans who are hoping we dont get Gruden. They are just not on board with believing we will get him.

Perhaps that's the case, as I had been acknowledged many times here, but why doesn't the money grab him by the neck and squeeze?

Bama did it to Moore at the last second.

I still say we gave as good as we took. My body is still aching though.

A few of my posts made zero sense...I mean zero. Those guys were making me crazy. Idiots...probably can't wait to tell their kids Santa Claus doesn't exist...

I took slice's post a little different. I took it as ut has now met every demand and its all on gruden. You bought in to the story that gruden kept coming back asking for after previous demands were met. Either could be true.

Are all the Strong faithful still trolling this thread this morning or are they hopping back on the train?

Bruin - so you're saying he's out for sure based on your info

I am definitely no fan of Charlie Strong because I think he represents a return from terrible to mediocre. With that said, if he is our HC I hope he proves me wrong. I will be happy to admit I was wrong if this is the case.

Schefter just said he thinks Chip Kelly will be coaching in the NFL next season. Good news for us considering we gotta go to Eugene next year!
