It may not be that simple. Some reports suggested that some of the big money boosters were uneasy about Gruden after they met him. There may be other people on Hart's side of the equation. It may not be as simple as boosters vs AD.

The truth is that it was always planned for the situation to look HORRIBLE, and for Hart to step in and save the day. It all makes sense...if the Gruden camp and boosters didn't start denying it and saying things fell through, then everyone would know that the hire was really made by the big money guys. The AD had to make it sound as with they had their guy, which was someone other than Gruden. With the way the situation is now, it will look like Hart didn't something unforeseen to save it at the last minute and land the mother of all fish!!!!!!!! GRUDEN is coming home SOON!!

This would support my PR theory. UT had no other choice but to pay the huge salary to Gruden and his assistants and break the NCAA salary scale.

I dont think I have seen a single person who said their #1 choice was Strong.

Instead, I think they see reality and are getting used to it by supporting who they believe will be the new coach and they see believers in Gruden as living in fantasy.

This whole Gruden thing reminds me of "The Usual Suspects"... The story that Verbal weaves to hide the fact that he is Keyser Soze, COULD be topped if Dave Hart ends up pulling this whole thing off...

In the below quote, maybe Dave Hart is "the murderer"... Maybe that's why he's appeared so "calm" this whole time?

Forgive me -- this whole Gruden thing has driven me to the edge of lunacy, and I caught the end of one of my favorite movies of all time last night. ;)
