Guys, I was in the building adjacent to Neyland Stadium last night, listening to a beautiful choral concert. The last number, as masterfully performed by the combined choirs of UT and several adept musicians, was Joy to the World. I couldn't help but think THIS song gives me hope, hope that Gruden will one day walk through the very auditorium that I sit in. And as I scrolled down on Volnation, song still playing, I see the article posted on ESPN that Louisville believes Strong will stay. It is inching closer to OUR time guys. Inching closer to the biggest hire in UT history. Inching closer to the biggest splash in NCAA coaching history. Inching closer to the unveiling of the biggest coverup in all of sports. Inching closer to the greatest number ever to grace a UT jersey.....Inching closer to Gruden 16!!! This is no coincidence, the number 16 has been good to us before and it's about to bring us a new field general.

I'll say this, if Gruden is the man, Y4B sure can make that claim, as can several others here.

Either that, or he's the guy you want slinging "stuff" against the wall to see what sticks.

I'm guessing, but you have one day of stories that we offered and then a whole other day of they turned it down. It kind of drags the process out over more days than just they interviewed. I'm just guessing because I have the same question.

Hey y'all think the boosters are just setting back and letting Hart hang himself? Then they can come in and say "We tried it your way now we are going to do it our way"?

And why would we supposedly offer Strong $3.75 mil when Bielema is getting $3.2 mil from Arky? He isn't $500k better. Not one bit.

Thanks for the solid breakdown. I hadnt looked at it from that perpesctive. You my friend just pulled me a little further away from the cliff.

Note that the reports are that they are staying at their school. Not that they rejected an offer.

I think reports of offers are wrong. I don't think they ever had offers.

Here is how it went:

Phone call to Gundy and Strong from Zook:

"Hey guys, it has been a while since we chatted..... Pleasantries exchanged..... Let me tell you something....I have a deal for you guys - but you have to really play along - play it up - Charlies do a presser and flub it up - move that autograph session.... Mike have one of your beat reporters send a tweet about your contract mess last year and that is still running around in your mind. UT will leak that offers are being made in the 3+ million range... Set up interviews with Hart.... after interviews let in stew..... You are all but guaranteed fat raises and contract extensions.. just play along.. you won't be offered a job but your pockets will get more full and your fan base will love you guys for staying put! Ok everyone on the same page.... Dave are you here? Dave has the particulars.... Jon and I thank you!!!!
