I think all these semi-decent coaches are playing us to get pay raises at their current schools, and we're going to end up with someone only slightly better than Dooley.

Yeah, instead they hired Urban Meyer instead of making Strong HC after they had just fired Strong's boss.

Then, they hired Muschamp instead of hiring Strong after just one season at UofL.

I will say if getting gruden is still doable GET it DONE. And if it already is, it was the greatest coup in the history of college football. GO VOLS GET IT DONE!!:rock:

I just hope if the dark planet comes on the 21st Gruden has already been named. At least then we could be happy before impact. :D would suck to not get Gruden and the world really did end. :/

Exactly. I guess nobody pays attention to whats happening. The same scenario over and over again, i means its like watching a child try to fit a square into a circle!!! I just dont understand.

I agree in general regarding people playing a race card, but VFL98 is way off on the facts regarding UF not making Strong their HC.

When this is over it certainy will be for the best. Whoever the new coach is deserves a clean slate for a start. We don't need to give message board ammo to our rivals to use against us in recruiting. We need to unify as a fanbase regardless of the hire

I'm all aboard the Gruden train. I still, fully, think he's our guy. However, I don't see it happening within the next week, or even two.

In the meantime, I'm going to try to convince myself I'm not turning into an alcoholic and convince the ulcers I'm probably starting to get to slow their roll for a bit :)

But, do you really think they would fire the head coach and then replace him with a staffer? At the time, that would have been like us hiring Chaney full time now.

Instead, they hired Urban Meyer and retained Strong.

The media speculated that Charlie Strong was not offered the job at Florida (or any SEC School) because his wife is white and people just weren't sure how that would play in the south.
