I would like Gruden #1 but Strong or Davis would be good hires if they can pull in top recruiting classes.

Strong is starting to grow on me.

The sad thing is when it comes to strong he is right about the racial issues. The younger generation tends to be more of in line with the world of today, not saying there aren't generations older that aren't, but I have heard particularly around the Memphis area from older generations that if Tennessee hired a black coach it would ruin the University.

I don't agree myself considering I loved counzo as the hire, even though I was really hoping for shocka

Why would they? They got trashed about Gruden info and we still haven't gotten any closer to naming a coach. Let everyone have their fun and in the end, when we get Gruden, they will come crawling back

Maybe I wasnt clear. Grudenites do not troll other coaches threads and belittle those posters...yet all those posters come here and belittle Grudenites...

Ya know, since there is an announcement coming and all..

Is that better?

I have to believe money is not what keeps Gruden from being our coach. It just doesn't make good business sense to pass on him for the money being discussed. I think if Gruden is not our coach, it's because he didn't want to be our coach. Simple as that.

Skeeter mentioned about six top recruits that would probably come to the Vols if Strong is signed.

But yes, I still want Gruden.

For the record, we aren't eliminating Charlie Strong from contention for the Tennessee job. I think he's a fine coach and a great fit.

Nah. Not been turned down yet. Still negotiating with Gruden, and I believe Hart has already secured Butch Davis as his fallback coach. It's been well-reported that Davis wants the UT job. Notice who the media has gone silent on . . . Gruden and Davis. Everybody else has either publicly denied interest in the job or are now being rumored to be under consideration. Any interviews now being conducted are simply a delay tactic while negotiations continue with Gruden. If we can't come to terms with Gruden by some drop dead date only Hart knows, then Davis will be announced.

IDK that it's accurate to say he hates Florida, LOL.
But, I do hope he is motivated to beat them on the recruiting trail and the football field.
