So you mean to tell me that the AD's office was Fort Knox until 3 days ago.....and now we get an open line of communication and a virtual play by play in real time? This does not make sense.

Oakland is a mess of a franchise with a horrible quarterback situation, lacking in upcoming draft picks, and has a fan base that largely hates Gruden for leaving.

Highly, highly doubtful there's any credence to this rumor. He's had much, much more attractive opportunities than the scrap heap that is the Raiders

Lex said earlier that Gruden was in Ny at the HOF meeting last night.....what you make of this news?

Are we having fun yet?

I'm not excited about Strong but he's a much better prospect than Franklin and Louisville has been a better program over the last decade or two

My point exactly Franklin has the #15 class at Candy and Strong hasn't broke the top 25 in 3 years at a better program

Those close to Gruden ( Cris Mortenson) say that the QB at the prospective team will be an important factor in where Gruden will return to coaching. That said, Oakland is in a terrible QB situation with Carson Palmer, and even more uncertainty as you dive into the depth chart. They also are unlikely to pursue a rookie in a year where 2013 NFL draft class appears to be limited at the QB position. The potential Free Agency class of 2013 is shaky at best [Tebow, A. Smith, Vick]
Gruden to the raiders just doesn't make sense, unless they move the franchise to LA.

Peyton Manning talking to him about UT :)

I do not believe for a minute that UT is in bidding war for Strong; that is nonsensical!

However if we are, then UT has huge problems with the AD as well as the big $$$$ donors ranging for inept decision making to financial irresponsibility! Additionally, if this is happening then UT will be a pit for the next 5 to 10 years!

TIFWIW, a buddy of mine, who's a huge UT fan and CPA, said that UT only had @$3M, at most, for coach given the financial position we are in.

If big $$$ said, for Gruden only, then this could fit that we are in a bidding war with UofL.

Sounds like you just described UT
