I'm as disappointed as everyone. No experience in a big time conference and everything. Plus, it's clear who I wanted as I had 1000+ posts in this thread. Hell, I helped create the secret Gruden language.

However, Jones is 50-27. He only has one losing season between C. Michigan and Cincinnati. Plus, he is a two time Big East coach of the year. I'll give him a chance. (Hart is a different story - not Jones' fault he is an idiot)

One other thing: the OG's shared the info they received as best they could. No reason to attack them because things changed. There is no possible way for them to know the real story of where things went sideways. Flame Yay if you want though.

Yup. It's double depressing if you live in Knoxville. The vibe of the town and revenues of certain local businesses are negatively affected by the down state of UT football. It's just sad.

I say three years... and it will be an exact mirror of the Dooley era. In fact, I'm almost willing to be by year 3 they will be telling us that Butch Jones was benevolent and did us a favor since we were so depleted. I'm going to be watching what his buyout will be. Hopefully this time they are smart and realize they are taking a HUGE risk, and at the very least cover our butts with a low buyout (or none at all).

Dude, it's an internet message board with a heading of " Tennessee Coaching Rumors and Speculation ". Grow up and get over it. I've been a Vol fan for almost 50 years and I'm not quitting because of a coaching hire. Yeah, I wanted Gruden ( badly ) and I'm disappointed in Hart's decision, but I'll learn to live with it.

Here is the reality that has finally come to the forefront. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE on this board has a clue as to what goes on in the athletic department. This message board, one that we all clearly love to be a part of, is merely opinion and funny .gifs. Anyone that comes on here (yes, even the beloved Skeeter and all the OG's) acting like they have facts is a clown and is just posting to get a rise out of people.

To all the OG's, we are mostly all grown men here. You had a good run and got a lot of notoriety over the last month. However, do yourselves and your families and friends a favor and stop for your own good. Its embarrassing how you still throw out your baseless "facts" and then when they don't come true you lay the blame on something changing at the last second. You never knew a damn thing and today you were fully exposed.

Finally, I bleed orange and will always root for my Vols but I have come to a point where there is a difference between rooting for my team and supporting them. I will cheer on and watch UT everytime there is a game....on TV. Times are tough these days and I know if I stay disciplined, as I usually do, I can still make a few weekend trips to Knoxville every year for a games. However, with the way things are going on The Hill and the lack of purpose and direction from our athletic department, I am choosing to take my money elsewhere those couple of weekends a year. Hell I am not even interested in driving up for a free of charge Spring Game.

Pretty numb today and this feeling is inexplicable. I hate what has happened to my childhood passion. I still love this board and the humor that comes with it but just know moving forward that nothing is really fact on here.
