If UT AD was in financial dire straits this hire will make it worse. Some money people will not support this BS hire.

If you guys only knew how close Gruden was!!!! It was freaking done except for signatures.

I have been thinking the same thing. I've been in recruiting for over 7 yrs. Not positions at this level but you see the same shi%. People in powerful positions that don't rely on resources that might have more experience in certain areas. This process has been a joke. I'm not completely comparing what I do to hiring a HC in the SEC...although by the looks of it...maybe my firm should start a group that focuses on these searches.

A big thanks to all those who kept this thread rolling.I normally do not post but from day one I have kept up with this situation. You guys kept my hopes up that we would bring TN back to the place it was when I was a kid...... With that being said I will say this " Someone needs and should be held accountable for this whole situation". The old saying crap rolls down hill well Hart you better get a shovel (maybe a backhoe) and some vicks in your nose (to cover up the smell) because if and when this does not pan out for you well you may be the new football AD at ETSU and they don't have football and already have a AD so what does that tell you?

No tears here friend. I look forward to see what a guy with zero wins against ranked opponents, the ability to draw only 2 four-star players in 3 years, and gets whipped by Dooley can do in the SEC against Saban, Miles, Spurrier, and Richt.

My guess, 4-8 next year and I will gladly come back to take my lumps if I'm wrong.

Our AD has got to be the stupidest AD ever! Arkansas,Kentucky,and Aburn made us look stupid. I thought we had all this money to find a real coach? Are we saving money for another bad coach and buyout. This University makes no sense! Cheap azz bast**ds when we had money.

Just want to win, that is all.... Just cant believe that we settled for a 3rd tier coach.

Grew up a vols fan since birth, first game at 6 years old, watched a national title, been to 3 sec championship games, and never once until derek dooley and now Butch Jones have I felt like we have settled foe mediocority.

Jimmy Cheek should be gutted for trying to turn our program into Harvard, we are a football program not an Ivy Leauge school my god. That I believe was the driving force for all the top coaches including Gruden.

That's for Butch Jones... he has done NOTHING wrong in all of this and he WANTED TO BE OUR COACH. I'm supporting him 100% and I really don't give a rat ass what the rest of you do.

If you want to vent or be pissed at something or somebody, consider Jimmy Cheek, Susan Martin and Dave Hart. They are the reason why we had so much trouble hiring any "Homerun" coach, including Gruden.
