This is not a post against the OG's. I'm really just curious if the OG's have talked to their sources and can give us any feedback as to how the Butch Jones deal happened? I just want to know if a Gruden deal was blown and who allowed this to happen.

I understand. This hire is somewhat similar to Dooley's, but Butch has a better resume than Dooley. Even still, I can understand your apprehension given his lack of coaching at the top college level.

However, is it fair to those kids on the team that bust their butts every Saturday and give their all of Tennessee if we do not support them because the hire is not the big name we wanted? Those kids deserve our support. They chose to come here and win, not lose. They chose to come here and represent our school for themselves, their school, and us - the fans.

"All we are saying... is give Butch a chance"... sings the Football Player choir LOL :p

I tried to post this last night, but wasn't sure if it ever made it with the server issues. BUT dammit!
We have a jacka$$ heathen from Alabama ruining our football program. I can't take this. We are the F'n Univ of Tn and we are being laughed at. :cray::banghead2:

With the two conversations I had the last two days, I think what has held us back was the academic side as far as programs our student atheletes can select that would be the same as other SEC programs.

CJG was still in play if this could get fixed. However, Martin and Cheeks have not made the changes and it has made it tough to get ANY coach including CJG.

I will support CBJ until he would gives a reason not to do so. He is a brave man to take this job on with the fight still to be made between the AD and the BOT(Martin and Cheeks). Good luck to him. Go Vols. Yes, I thought we had a really good chance still with Gruden after those convos. Obviously, not anymore. :mf_surrender:

I absolutely did. As 'boro said, I even challenged him.

If the source is so solid and trustworthy, why not allow everybody the chance to formulate their own opinion of what may or may not have gone wrong? Nobody forced any of the OGs to post info. They did, they were wrong. There is no harm at all at letting the cat out of the bag.

They had sources, or they didn't. If they did, they were obviously not legit sources, because the info was wrong. If they didn't, then they were all FOS the entire time.

Well , he got a 1.25 million dollar a year raise to come here for three years. Pretty smart business decision by Mr Jones.

I agree with the whole we need to support the guy because he is our coach now and for the players. It just sucks and doesn't feel right cause I feel like I have been forced fed this and have to like it no matter the fact it makes me sick. Seems like torture to me?!

Thanks og's!!! This has been fun! Thought we had it. I watch the board but don't post. Hart is history! How did we get a bama guy as ad anyway?
