Gman, sorry this didn't work out the way we wanted it to..I appreciate everything yuo brought to this board..This is a very sad day for me but I'm trying to be strong..I'm not leaving VN though b/c it's part of my life now.

Everybody needs to know how rumors manifest themselves.

Person A says to B: "We had informal contact with Gruden and he might be interested in listening to us."

B tells C: "Gruden and UT are talking and Gruden is interested."

C tells D: "Gruden wants the job at UT."

D posts on VN: "100%" or "!" or something like that.

Wait...I came on here to gloat that Gruden is the coach. He isn't? Yay4bray said that 'Butch Jones' is a full zip-up bodysuit and Gruden will reveal himself at the presser. Am I wrong about that? Huh, huh:p

I just do what I'm told for the most part. Fun is fun, but business is business. Some people needed to be reminded of that at the right time. :) they know who they are.

The decision has been made... But Unfortunately this isn't over administratively for the University. Trust me, some of the people who feel isolated will make sure that their side of the story comes out. Not sure if that's going to do any good....but I guess if vindication is your thing....

We all want the same thing. I will say that some are more "committed" than others. We'll see.

I support the University and team.

At what point did anything I say come across to you as me accepting mediocrity? I wanted more than what we got, I'm not happy with it but HOPE (as we all did about a HR hire) that this will turn out better than it looks to be at this point. I was just merely saying our stadium and history are great things and from this you say I accept mediocrity? You know to read between the lines when I only drew one line.

I believe you put out what you heard from people you trusted and there is nothing wrong with that.

For what is it worth I was told the first offer to Gruden was $4.6 and 4 for staff. Then it all broke down and only Haslam, Gruden, and Hart only know why.

Part of owning up to a mistake is coming clean, not just saying "I'm sorry".

It's so easy to say "I wont reveal my sources", especially when there are none or at least none worth putting 100% faith in.

In the end its a matter of integrity. Tell the truth and the WHOLE truth.

This has always been my suspicion, but I have no inside information, and I'm skeptical of everything.

The reason I bought into the Gruden stuff initially is because I had friends from other places telling me that Grude was contacting coaches on different staffs.

I was never Gruden or bust, even though I was 100% confident it was done.

I'm more concerned about the overall dysfunction of the entire organization. Unrelated to Gruden, there must be a problem in all three areas that you mentioned. Until somebody has the stones to identify and fix those...we are screwed.

If this were the old days, and this were a real room, and these were real people, I would grab a couple by the seat of their pants, and the back of their shirts, and I would throw them the **** out.
