It happens. A Saban coached bammer team lost to Louisiana Monroe. A Tennessee team QB'd by Peyton lost to Memphis. Appy St beat Michigan. Jones is far from a homerun hire but he is 50-27 all time. MUCH better than Dooley coming in. Nothing we can do, its a done deal so if you love UT FB might as well embrace it.

Well I'm just here to say that I'm not mad at anyone here. You all just wanted what you thought was best for UT. As for all the "insiders" well I'll never know why you guaranteed what you did, maybe you were lied too or maybe you just lied to get more support for the candidate you wanted the most. Either way it doesn't matter and neither do those supposed, and in my opinion stupid, "ban bets". This is a forum for us to comes and discuss topics related to our beloved Vols and I hope to see ALL of you here in the future giving both your opinions and information about out Vols.

I'm hopeful too. There was Jon Gruden, and the rest of the field. This is as good of a hire as anyone other than Jon Gruden. People need to freaking relax and give the man a chance.

I just think all are ummmm not happy with the search process or the search results but I don't think that means that Grudenites will not give our new Coach a chance - I think they will - fwiw.

The reason I bought into the Gruden stuff initially is because I had friends from other places telling me that Grude was contacting coaches on different staffs.

I was never Gruden or bust, even though I was 100% confident it was done.

I'm more concerned about the overall dysfunction of the entire organization. Unrelated to Gruden, there must be a problem in all three areas that you mentioned. Until somebody has the stones to identify and fix those...we are screwed.

Absolutely could not agree more. We need a strong leader with a vision. And it needs to be a Tennessee person who envisions greatness.

If Hart or Cheek are problems, then it is even more disheartening that nobody with influence stepped up to stop them. Apathy.

I am not saying that it will happen, but what if we play Oregon well and only lose by 1 score, and then beat Florida the next week. Will people be ok with the BJ hire at that point? What if he beats Georgia also, and almost beats Bama? Will 7 wins next year get people behind BJ? Just curious.
