*OFFICIAL* March Madness Game Discussion Thread

I dont think a couple of fouls determine the outcome of the game. We didn't play well in either of those games.
You didn’t answer the question. We lost that Purdue game directly because of the call. We were up two, they call a foul on the three and luckily Edwards goes 2/3 and we salvaged going to OT. Still lost but the foul shouldn’t have been called to end regulation.

What Giannis did was tackle the dude. That’s not a common foul and everyone knows it. It’s not that hard to comprehend. COMMON fouls. Did USC have a common foul or intentional foul. Pretty clear it was common.

Again, what is your definition of a COMMON foul. And are you saying 100% ALL "common" fouls shouldn't be called within 30 seconds.

So if someone goes up for a shot and clearly gets hit on the arm altering the shot, you're saying don't call that?

If its a foul its a foul. Cant not call something because of how much time is on the clock.

Dude just look it up the NCAA rule book. Everyone knows what a common foul looks like. Stop trying to play ignorant.

Your argument seems to be don't call bad or "touch" foul calls with the game on the line; which I don't think anyone would disagree with.

But your statement is don't call any "common" fouls with under 30 seconds. Which is IMO just as bad as calling "touch" fouls. You keep bringing up Purdue, but if lost a game because our shooter got obviously hacked on a shot and no call I would just as angry. But according to your definition, that would be totally cool because hey....don't call "common" fouls under 30 seconds.

You stop dancing around a pretty simple question. I'm pretty sure it's because you can't answer it because you know it's going to take you down a logical path that makes your "no fouls under 30 seconds" seem pretty stupid.

We missed 14 FTs that game.

We can sit here and debate fouls all night but it's insane to say you don't want "anything" called in the last 30 seconds. Imagine going up for a layup to win the game and getting tackled by 2 guys and not getting a call because there's 8 seconds of game time left. A foul is a foul. I know they allow more hand checking and body contact at the end of games sometimes but that's different than a scoring foul. Scoring fouls should be called 100% of the time.

No common fouls. Idk how else to say it. If you don’t know what a common foul is then that’s on you 🤷‍♂️

In this scenario, if you tackle someone then that’s not a basketball play. Hence intentional or flagrant foul. Not that hard of a concept to understand.

Notre Dame is a team I’d want to avoid in this tournament.

They’re unconscious from the three point line.

So after watching Ohio State and Villanova games I believe Vols side of the South region has some tough defenses to get thru. Whomever gets thru will be battle scarred for sure

Even the hardest/most egregious/obvious common foul possible, whatever that is in your mind? It's your presence that players be allowed to do that in the last 30 seconds to prevent the other team from scoring, instead of, ya know, play defense?

A hard common foul, don’t call it under 30 seconds with the game on the line.

Ok...the guy's arm gets hit clearly affecting the shot.....that's not an intentional foul and it's not a flagrant. So you're saying don't call it?
