Official March Madness Thread

Well what is the rule. does your foot have to be touching the line or not?

That charge call that Craft got with a minute or so left was huge. What a surprise a terrible call would play a critical part in a tournament game.

Also, regardless of if they were in the circle or not, he was freaking mid-jump! How is that not a charge?

Yeah he wasn't set by the time clyburn was up. Anyway you look at it, it was a blown call

Pomeroy put it well: OSU played a solid game and got some breaks, essentially what you need to advance in this tournament. However, in their two biggest games of the year (vs. Kansas, vs. OSU), Iowa State got screwed on two utterly terrible block/charge calls. Hoiberg is the next big thing in coaching, though. I love what he's doing at ISU.

Also, Bilas:

Jay Bilas @JayBilas On the charge call, college basketball refs repeatedly call charges on clear blocks. It is an epidemic, and a failure. We can do better.

I wish CBS would show the play in question again. Not surprised though considering Kellogg was playing spin doctor during the broadcast.

Also, Chuck has yet another point: we can review these unbelievably weak elbow calls but you can't review a block call?

Iowa State loses three starters and a sixth man to graduation, but you just get the feeling they'll continue to improve under Hoiberg. What a fun team to watch.
