Will Mark Richt be at UGA next season?

my guess is he would prefer the nfl (49ers makes complete sense), but would jump at any major offer (georgia, michigan, ucla, etc).

I think Rich Rod will be able to hang on to the job at Michigan. I'd be pissed if he came to the SEC.

Possibly, but I don't see him coming to the south. He would be short term depending on how long Rich is at Michigan. He's kind of a Big 10 style coach. I think his success in the Pac-10 is because of his straight forward smash mouth game.

As for Richt, He has 3 years left on contract. Coupled with Grantham's byout if Richt if fired (unless new coach keeps him), It would cost close to $10 million to oust him now. To complicate things, even though football money is separate from the university, UGA budget has caused some furlow days to make ends meet. Paying him and Grantham $10 mil not to coach would certainly breed discontent. All things considered, and all the criticism heaped on Richt right now, this will be his only sub 8 victory season in his tenure. He's in the top 5 or 10 of active coaches for seasons at or above 8 wins. Saban cannot even lay claim to that. He will get a chance to replace Bobo next season, and atleast work his contract down to one year before the firing squad assembles. It's a numbers game right now.

No official word from Turene himself, but there's plenty of smoke right now.

What is it about UGA, its a UGA thing. Richt is the most underrated recruiter.

It's a UGA thing? WTF are you on Jersey Shore? Let me guess, we wouldn't understand.

Again, nothing official on Turene, just smoke right now. My best guess is that he wants to talk UT's favorite character and inform him he no longer wants to go west before he makes it official, just my guess.

UGA is UGA man, what else can I say. We're still a very attractive option to the best of the best.

Yes, because you've done so much with all that talent.

Is there a brochure of UT talking points because it seems that the same thing is constantly being said by different people.

We're very happy with Richt.

Not all Dawgs are happy with Richt. Just go back and read your own boards after the loss to Colorado last year. We arent the only ones saying this.

Fair point. Our team had some issues last year that the average UGA fan did not know. Richt got rid of those problems in the offseason and its starting to show in the recruiting trail down the stretch. How else do you think top notch players are considering us?

UGA is a sleeping giant. The best is yet to come, keep an eye on the following weeks.

You hear it over & over again because it's true. People do not have to make anything else up when something is so bad that you can hammer it home.

And no, your fan base is not happy with Richt. I continue to read how many UGA donors have grown tired of Richt. As you said, where there's smoke, there's fire.

Seems that being relieved of all of those "administrative duties" has helped Richt see the light.

BTW, GA has always been the sleeping Giant, with the emphasis on sleeping. I'm jealous of your talent, and loathe your ineptitude. The average fan you speak of may not know the inside information, but they know what kind of product that is being put on the field. Bottom line is Georgia has no excuses.

Seems like Richt had to get rid of problems last off season. Mabye he's the problem. If so i hope he stays for a while also.

Richt is not going anywhere. I can only see something changing until after this season coming up. End of story.

Well, of course Richt will be back this year. Common sense. Don't kid yourself that this isn't a "firing" year. He either improves the team significantly, or he will be gone.

The excuses are up, no question. We have the talent and finally have an AD that gets it. Look at all the changes as a whole that have been made. Better days are definitely ahead for UGA.

With all the talent Richt has had and still only ONE SEC championship. His problems didn't start last year and will not end this year. It doesn't matter how much talent you pile up, UGA will not win big under Richt. Sooner or later all these gullible teens will figure it out. I just hope all of you dogfans don't figure it out for a while.

Searles was a problem? (I know this is not the only change you are referring to.)

You consistently have talent. Crazy talent.

WTF does the AD have to do with under achieveing?

Let me ask you guys something,

Do you think Richt got stupid overnight? What's the mans record.

Just stay tuned to what happens.

Wrong again. Searles was not the problem. I was hoping that we could have held on to him. Texas gave him 100K extrs per year and there's no way UGA could match it right now.
