Gotta wonder if the roster is blown up if Poile would even want to stick around. He's 70 years old and has been doing this in Nashville for over 20 years. That would suck to have him retire without winning a Cup here, but you know the thought has crossed his mind that perhaps he had a window there for a few years and missed it.There should be no whispers, I hear gutteral screams. It's over, pull the plug. If the GM won't, time to move on there too.
Unlike most here, I was not thrilled with the Duchene acquisition. The most bullish case I could make for him is that a change of scenery might light a fire under him, and unlike in Colorado we wouldn't be relying on him to carry the team offensively so some pressure might be off. I don't think that's happened.I want to understand how we have regressed so? I mean everyone we have acquired was good. Granlund was a dynamic forward with the wild. Duchy is dynamic top line center. Why is everyone regressing with the predators?
Side note I’ve only been watching hockey since the cup run so not that knowledgeable but seems odd players come here and just start regressing
I think arvy isn’t a top line winger anymore. Doesn’t have the speed anymore and to little to hold the puck. I can’t stand when he brings the puck into the zone bc I know he is going to stop and going to lose his edge and fallJust my 2 cents but Arvi and Forester should play together more. Then pick whoever the top center is and run that line a little more than the others.
Good point, didn't think about that. I'd definitely expose him in the expansion draft, but if Seattle took him, they'd take the full contract too right? Can expose him to Seattle?
I think so, see Vegas got the best of a lot of teams by taking trades and draft picks. I think a lot of teams are gonna expose good players to keep that from happening this timeGood point, didn't think about that. He'd actually be a really attractive player to have for an expansion franchise (veteran, does have some talent) but I doubt they'd want to pay him $8m/year for several years.
Vegas also just had a really sweet deal with that draft. The existing teams couldn't really protect all that many players, and most of the deeper rosters had no choice but to leave some really solid players exposed.I think so, see Vegas got the best of a lot of teams by taking trades and draft picks. Yea talk about a perfect storm for them. They got so many young up and coming players. They also can apparently sign everyone that’s good in FAVegas also just had a really sweet deal with that draft.
