Official NFCCG: 49ers @ Seahawks

compare it to a guy who has has just taken a knee against a team/QB/coach that have been his nemesis for years. He just outplayed the guy everyone says is better because of their head to head record. He obliterated a defense many said would give him issues. Would Manning be getting a pass if he had said something similar? Would a similar statement even cross his mind?

You don't see a difference in making the play that caused the game INT and taking a knee? There is a different level of excitement in those 2 plays. Has Brady or Belichick ever tried to fight Peyton? I do think Sherman is kind of a punk, but I don't see too much wrong with this. Plus I am sure Crabtree was running his mouth during the game

Richard Sherman is a damn genius and loving every second of this. I'd take him on my team any day.

I don't think Sherman is a bad person or a thug. But I do think he should have handled the situation a lot better. He had just made a game-changing play on his nemesis and I understand if he wanted to stare Crabtree down, talk to him on the field, etc. etc., but when the game is over and you're heading off the field, show a bit more class. JMO.

Big difference in the mentality and attitude of a qb and db. Great qbs are usually calm, reserved and methodical because that's what's required to be successful. Dbs generally have a me against the world attitude and wrs are divas.

Ftr Tom Brady chased down a db and got in his face talking smack after a td throw this season and everyone praised his competitive fire. Favre used to do the same thing and everyone thought it was great.

Could you imagine Manning leading his team out of the tunnel like Ray Lewis used to? Players have different personalities. Let them be expressive as long as they aren't being offensive or cursing on national tv.

he had time between the interview and the play to collect himself. Just saying if he's going to speak to the media on national tv he should learn to conduct himself better.

maybe it's me but I never understood the need to run down opponents after a big win. You've worked so hard with the guys on your own team and your first instinct is to take shots at someone else? Wouldn't praising Kaep and Crabtree make the play look even more spectacular? If it was simply a play against a sorry WR and a choking QB then why make such a big deal of it?

If PM throws the game-winning TD over Sherman will he ask why they had that sorry DB out covering his WR?

I still think PM has taken more abuse at the hands of the media for his record vs the Pats than Sherman took from Crabtree. I have no doubt deep down he'd love to throw out a big :finger3: to them but won't

I still think in game is different than post game. Leave the crap on the field and celebrate with your team

not Manning but Brees does. I've never seen him call out an opposing player after the game. He could have but I probably would have remembered it.

Normally I would agree. But if this guy did try to fight him and was running his mouth before and very likely in this game then I can see how the emotion of the situation could have got to him.

You want to shut him up, he was talking a lot to TY Hilton when they played, Hilton stats: Win and 140 yards receiving and 2 TDs. I bet he didn't talk much to our about Hilton after that.

I really don't have much issue with what Sherman said. However his outburst was to a female reporter. It obviously made her uncomfortable. Huge difference IMO.

It wasnt nearly on the level of Sherman. But Manning did tell the people saying cold weather is a problem for him, to stick it up their ***. After a good cold weather performance. Lol

Sherman - "well played game my good man. Yes jolly good game ol chap"

Crabtree - hand to the facemask - "f u"

Probably how it went down.

sup tri. Man, he shouldn't have gone over there to him. Plenty of time to talk during the game and to shake hands after. He was doing the same bs he did when that big OL slapped him and he held his arms out like "what did I do?". I love the dude's play on the field.
Showing up crabtree, throwing the choke at sf qb and scaring the shiznit out of Erin Andrews while going on an angry and egotistical rant is weak. Can't really believe it's being defended as much as it is, and it didn't happen between the lines or during the heat of battle.

I agree with that, my post was just in response to PM would never have a similar statement cross his mind.

Reggie was holding black people back 500 years. Reggie Miller is a disgrace to black people. Black people need to be ashamed of Reggie Miller.

And there he is. Even though this has brought up a racial **** storm for no reason as I was discussing last night, this stalker still lacks the brainpower to discuss the topic. The same topic that is on yahoo, espn, and every other website around. Lack of education holds too many people back. Look into it.

Well, given the fact that morons on Twitter were calling him various racial slurs, I'd say he has a bit of a point...

What did he think would happen? Was there a concern that racism doesn't exist anymore? Some don't care what he did. Others overreact. I just think he acted like an immature punk and brought about a mess with his selfishness and ego.
Not sure why that is such a horrible opinion, as it is exactly what happened.

The "greatest ever" beat a "mediocre" player and then went all WWE about it, you know, cause the greatest always go berserk when beating the mediocre.

Tool. Excuse me, stupid tool.

Yes, you're grounded. Go to Jerry's house.

What I don't get is that while Sherman deflected the ball, the 49rs would have had another shot or two (can't remember the down) if the other Seattle player wasn't there to clean it up.

You are correct. However, this is a scenario that Sherman and the Hawks practice and prepare for:

Skip to about 6:00 for Sherman breaking down that type of play and scenario.

He did a great job of a controlled tap back in play though and there were only defender there. Great play.
I actually though SF was mismanaging the clock a little. Didn't use a spike or get out of bounds, and I think they had 2 timeouts left. Thought they could run another qb run or draw and get closer with plenty of time.

Did he know that, though? It seems he could've been tapping it back to a SF player. Maybe he has that awareness.
