This isn't directed towards this website, but all over the internet. Why do middle aged white men love to use the word thug when someone trash talks?
not really at all. I've seen it used all over the place, along with punk. Punk and thug are often used synonymously to describe someone acting like, well, a punk or a thug, regardless of race. Marshall Henderson acts like a punk and a thug and nobody cares who says it.
I thought this was funny, at any rate, due to reporters talking about how angry he appeared to be and how scared Erin Andrews was.

So was Reggie a "thug" when he was talking crap to Spike Lee and doing the choke sign at him. I don't recall Reg getting any backlash or being called a thug, and he was doing it at a spectator.
Sherman acted like complete idiot and I thought his comments were classless. Erin Andrews expression was hilarious, though.
Why do we not have an embedded video yet?
All that said, that was a heck of an athletic deflection which saved the day for the Seahawks. I can understand Sherman being fired up and proud of himself, but his delivery needs some work.

he called out an unathletic loser whose only got to touch a court because he paid for a ticket. I also don't remember Reggie posting how he respected his opponents just a month before (wouldn't matter since Spike would never be an opponent of RM anyway)
the situations are not even remotely similar

Yeah, I agree the Reggie thing is quite a bit different. Sherrman did the hands to the neck and went well beyond that chasing Crabtree down and with his 2 post-game interviews.
I saw that and then I read what Sherman wroteNot sure if its been posted, maybe this explains his behavior
Report: Crabtree tried to fight Sherman at a charity event last year | ProFootballTalk

Richard Sherman explains the Crabtree incident and postgame interview | The MMQB with Peter King
I ran over to Crabtree to shake his hand but he ignored me. I patted him, stuck out my hand and said, Good game, good game. Thats when he shoved my face, and thats when I went off.
The first produced a BS holding call against me
After reading that and Sherman's well written column, I'm gonna side with Sherman and give him the excuse of the adrenaline of the moment. Dislike what he said but anyone calling him a thug for stating the truth and being expressive is dumb.
I agree, I give him a pass because the game just ended, he was hyped up after he made the game winning play. Sure he talks, but how many players in the NFL don't?
Sherman blaming everybody else and playing the poor victim doesn't help it go away. You guys know damn well he wasn't running up to Crabtree to be a good sport. He's done it before and got *****slapped.
compare it to a guy who has has just taken a knee against a team/QB/coach that have been his nemesis for years. He just outplayed the guy everyone says is better because of their head to head record. He obliterated a defense many said would give him issues. Would Manning be getting a pass if he had said something similar? Would a similar statement even cross his mind?
