Okay Ob, one of your fellow pavement haulers is about to get on my last damn neve.

Haha

As of late I've been hauling shot rock. (Freshly dynamited rock beds) rebuilding the pig trail is a pain in the butt. I can't explain it good enough, but it's the most dangerous stuff I've done. 45-60 foot drop on either side of me while backing down a 200+ foot rock berm that's 10-12 foot wide. It's nerve racking for sure.

But I'll get on the radio and pass it along to the okie dump truckers they better ease up on ole grandvol!!

I hear that... I ****ing hate the summer heat. Ready for the crisp fall air.

It has been unseasonably cool here. Upper 50's to low 60's at night. Dry as hell. Very strange weather for us. We are usually still bouncing off the 100* mark here. But, I'm not complaining.

This wafflecock was doing 25 in a 55 and kept riding down the center of the road to keep people from passing him. Intentionally as well.

It's bad enough those lazy ****s have taken nearly a year to do a mile and a half stretch of road.

A mile and a half? In a year?

Holy crap. We do that in 2 days. They must be doing a major overhaul.

I have no idea why he was in the middle of the road. Weird.

Closed last October. I will give them a bit of leeway since a new four lane bridge was put in and the rains from the spring didn't help.

But otherwise, snail's pace would be appropriate.

Ahhh. Every rain day generates them 2 more days per state contract standards. They are still taking too long though. Kewitt did I-540 here in 9 months. 8 miles long. All new bridges and new asphalt. Complete overhaul.

We did 7 miles worth on building a new interstate (I-49) from ground up. Blasting, dirt work, base concrete, finish concrete, asphalt shoulders, etc in just over 2 years. Those guys are slow.

More than likely, the state figured the project at a hourly rate- screwed up the engineering part and its doubled in size.

Example would be the job I'm on. The state based their numbers off 1969 asphalt core samples, the job doubled once the excavation started. No hard dirt until 41 feet. The 1969 samples showed hard pan at 15 feet. The job went from 2 million to 4 million.

Happens all the time. State engineers and planners are incompetent. You wouldnt believe (well you may) the double standards and hypocrisy I've seen them do.

Not you too, GV! You were supposed to be the chosen one!

For future reference never post anything from those 3 Star Wars movies. In fact forget they even exist. Thanks

I highly recommend the People Against George Lucas. It's very good. They do a great job of giving you his point of view, but I still come away from it saying, "**** him".

Dude is like Ringo Star but if Ringo Star were to get all the credit and then ruin the Beatles.

Much respect. I would be dead

They're not so bad if you pretend they're Mel Brooks style comedies and get plenty high and drunk before watching. Then they're full of laughs.

Except for Jar Jar. No amount of drugs can help that.

OB, are you part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 hired by Obama?

:eek:lol: Sorry bruh, I had to.

Freak? Can you make that happen?

Other than the sorry acting from Hayden Christensen, the third was pretty badass overall.

I used to think that, but realized that was only in comparison to the first 2. Look up the Red Letter Media reviews of them (which are hilarious anyway).

Having said that, I can watch the first 3 and generally enough enjoy it because bad Star Wars is better than no Star Wars, and I still think Ewan McGregor was wasted as a great Obi-Wan Kenobi. But my goodness there is so much bad with them.

So much wasted potential in characters like Darth maul, Count Dooku, and general grievous. I haven't even read any books or know much about the expanded universe, but I could tell how much better those characters could have and should have been with a better script and director.

I'm nnot holding my breath with the new films either(except perhaps Rogue One). While I think they'll be better than the prequels(not a hard feat), I have a feeling JJ Abrams might treat it like his star trek reboots. Not bad action films, but not really capturing the essence and heart of the origin material. We'll see.

I think the heart and soul will be there. I mean, I teared up at the end of the latest trailer.
