Says the man who doesn't think any beer should be imbibed in a stemmed glass.

Meh, I know I'm a barbarian. But the one thing to remember about the countries that created lambics is they have gotten their ass kicked repeatedly by the country that created beer.

Something to be said about drinking from a stein or weizen glass.

Agreed. Although, I do feel spiffy sipping farmhouse from a low lambic, just as I like a 4 ounce cocktail in a Nick & Nora. There is a certain aesthetic pleasure to be had from it.

I do envy your SXSW proximity. That has to be the nuts.

This past SX was glorious. I saw some of my favorite bands right now, including a really badass postpunk outfit from Denmark. They're just kids, but they're incredible. Think X meets The Smiths, with an angry Cure thrown in.

Do yourself a solid and spotify "In Haze" by iceage.

Off topic music playlist with Dink:

"Los Angeles" by X
"Something I Gotta Do" Sonny Vincent, Rocket from the Crypt
"On My Fingers" by iceage
"Lounge" by Modest Mouse
"What Do I Get" Buzzcocks

Have any of you fine gents visited London and/or Scotland over Christmas? Would love insight from anyone who has been during that period; is there enough to do and see considering weather, holiday closures, etc.?

Yes, London. Stayed through New Years. Went to Trafalgar Square for New Year's Eve. It's like Times Square but better. They actually let you drink there unlike Times Square.

Thanks! Had contemplated staying over the new year, but looking more like a trip through Boxing Day should we decide to do it.

Rough week......we sold our slide for our pool, because nobody really used it and it was becoming an eyesore to us. When we removed the slide, there were still anchor bolts in the concrete sticking up. GF was up early in the morning and completely forgot about the bolts still being there and stepped right on two of them. One went nearly 3/4s of the way through her foot and the other about 1/4 way through. Pretty nasty injury and shes been doped up all week and basically crippled.

Well, fancy that. Does Moscow have that one blinking yellow light in the center of town? :birgits_giggle:

Only one they had then was on the east side of town. Hwy 57 and hwy 76 intersection. Take a left on 76 would take you to Somerville.

When you called someone you only dialed 4 digits.

 I remember dialing 4 digit phone numbers in the 50s.....of course, I was a little kid back then.

the ole party line. I remember my grandparents having that. I always wanted to answer the phone and granny would say it's not for us. I was like how can you tell? The way it rings she said.

That's rough, BC; sorry to hear. Also, my foot now hurts.
