Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I'm pretty sure that game today wasn't what Abner had in mind......

That said, I'll take a 4 game swing in the standings any week.

I'm actually not as anti-Westbrook as many others. I think he's good enough to help and a solid #4 guy. Barring an injury I think it's at least reasonable to expect 190-200 innings and 11-13 wins out of him. I'll take that out of my #4 guy every day of the week and twice on Sundays. But as I rethink that let me lower that win total to 21-23.

I'm still not sold on what this offense can do and I think it would help this entire team tremendously if they get Pujols signed in the next three weeks. This team doesn't need that hanging around its next all season.

Im liking my 21-23 win prediction out of these two right now at least.

Just realized that carp's contract is a club option next year.

At this point, I can't imagine they are about to pick up a 15M option with how he has looked this year.

There's a ton of games left. We will see, but with Albert also on the block it will be interesting.

Cards have done a decent job of scouting pitching and there are a lot of guys in the minors that im excited about. Miller was lights out last night.

2012 is the lone year for concern really. Carp right now is the biggest question mark.

Not sure if your talking about Shelby Miller. He'll make his first AA start Friday in Corpus Christie.

Maikel Cleto is the best starter in (AA)Springfield right now.

David Kopp is the only AA pitcher on the big birds AA roster. He is off to a slow start.

I don't know which is more shocking to me from last night - that Garcia went 3.1 and gave up 12 runs or Franklin went 2.2 and gave up 0.

In brighter news - Shelby Miller promoted to AA.

I held back on the purchase of single game tixs so I could view the rotational schedule at the beginning of each homestand and take my son to see Shelby while he's in (AA) Springfield.

Tony (unfairly) calls out other teams for cheating at their home ballparks with non-regulation pitching mounds, slick baseballs, etc. and then he goes and turns the lights off. Sounds like something he would do.

He took notes from Major League: Back to the minors.

He should have done in the top of the 11th instead of the bottom.
