Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I knew this garbage would bite us in the a** sooner or later. Neshek should have been named the closer in June.

I thought it was really odd that AJ was added to the roster as a 3rd catcher. I wonder if there were concerns before last night.

Mike Matheny, you're no LaRussa.

He has single handedly blown this series the last 2 games

Can he be fired even after 3 straight NLCS?

Matheny made Frediot look like a good manager in this series. You gotta "tip your cap" to the Giants. Literally. They won the series fair. Matheny didn't help matters either.

Waino wasn't going to be pitching again until Tuesday. He should've gone the distance with the way Matheny screwed with the bullpen on Wednesday.

Well, time to reset and go get a bat. Losing Beltran's production hurt more than anyone could've realized

This doesn't have anything to do with losing Beltran. we made the NLCS without him and then played poorly against the Giants. His .233 and 15 home runs wouldn't have been a difference maker, especially since he was hurt part of the year and didn't play most of September. He had surgery and wouldn't even have been able to play in the playoffs.

Beltran hurt but Craig turning to s*** after a historically good 2013 season was a killer. Peralta didn't show up in the playoffs either.

Neither did Holiday but Carpenter, Wong, and Adams did. Tavares, Cruz and Grichuk hitting homers as well. So I'd call it a wash for the playoffs.

The relief pitching stunk.

Matheny: Please, no more Choate.

I hope that whatever is wrong with Wacha gets straightened out before next season.

Surprised they beat the Dodgers based on the season, not surprised they lost to the Giants. If it weren't for the Brewers complete collapse they would have been fortunate to have been a wild card team.

Without Molina, the Royals would have had a field day if they had made it that far.

IMHO, they over achieved.
