Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Nats Schertzer is right -- time for the NL to join the real world and allow the DH -- having high priced pitchers bat pretty stupid these days.

So will we go after Hamels closer to the deadline if our arms are able to absorb Waino's absence? I'm not banking on Garcia being a solid contributor.

Of course Kluber gets his first win against us. Just having one day off after playing 20 games must not have been enough

That was one hell of a frustrating game to watch. We had multiple chances to score easy runs but made the worst baserunning errors i've ever witnessed.

Sooo? Any thoughts on the Shelby Miller-Jason Heyward trade? :whistling:

It doesn't matter. The Cards had to get somebody after the tragedy last winter. They benefited from the Braves firesale. Heyward will probably be a one year rental, but Shelby was just one of the many pitching prospects in the Cards organization.

Looking like you may need to bring them all to the big club if you keep losing pitchers.

Your organization does it right...really jealous...this could still turn out a win win for both...disaster for both...or a win for either side. That was directed mainly at Braves fans trying to trade in their butter knives for sharper versions when it went down. We had to deal Heyward because he wasn't going to re-sign. Schuerholz made the Texeira trade that helped put the Rangers in consecutive World Series, but we haven't been run well since he stopped GM duties. Your whole organization helps your decision maker build and develop a winning environment. We lost Bobby Cox and Schuerholz's steady hands and it reflected. Looking like we're getting the Cleveland Hart version or a close facsimile. The useless golf-playing Rangers Hart completely blows this deal.

Holliday has been on a tear but this offense is bi-polar. I'm harsh on Garcia, but it's good to see him give us a quality start. We desperately need to have someone dependable in the 5th spot.
