Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I enjoyed Grichuk, while in Memphis. I saw him hit a blast at 112 mph off the bat. He has a lot of pop in his swing.

Nice to see Heyward warming up a bit.

ICYMI, this is what Shelby Miller is up to these days:

2015 League Ranks:
• 6th in NL in IP (97.1)
• 3rd in NL in ERA (1.94)
• 9th in NL in WHIP (1.02)
• 1st in NL in CG (2)

I'm not a huge fan of the trade at this point, but we've lost Lynn and Wainwright for substantial stretches and the team ERA is still at least half a run lower than every other team besides the Pirates. If Heyward keeps hitting like this it'll be a huge boost.

JHey will get a nice payday, when the Yanks overpay him. That organization throws money around like they're strip club hopping in Vegas.

I'll never be a big fan of Garcia but he has provided stability. Lynn didn't miss a beat last night!

Garcia has looked better than ever. Let's hope he's not back on the DL in a month. That stunt Matheny pulled on Wednesday was scary.

A rotation of Wacha, Lynn, Martinez, Garcia, and Lackey is very solid.

2 things that are impressive.

Even if we continued to win 68% of our games, we still wouldn't reach 117 wins.

If we were in any other division, our smallest lead would be 5.5 games.

Lynn continues to bring a sense of consistency and dependability to this rotation. Not knocking on Wacha, however.

I think we have a very reliable rotation right now, even without Garcia and Waino. Hopefully Cooney/Lyons/whoever they decide to bring up next can fill in for a few starts.

The hitting is just... bad. Stretches like this in the playoffs killed us in 2012 and 2013.

It's pretty crazy to see Pham finally in the majors. I've been reading about him for like 7-8 years and came to not expect very much.

That was an important win. We've been stumbling as of late. Couldn't afford to drop a series to the cubbies. Hopefully we can get some offense going in the steel city
