Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

After the Mets get done with batting practice tonight and tomorrow night against that bum Weaver, there is a silver-lining. Carpenter and Suppan are lined up for game 6 and 7 if it gets that far.

You've got to be kidding me. I hate Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado. Talk about Cardinal-killers. Beltran just hit another freakin home run. This is embarrasing.

All pitches to players named Carlos should be thrown 2 feet outside of the strike zone from now on.

Or maybe they could drill Beltran in that monstrous mole he has next to his right ear. Goodness man, keep the batting helmet on even when you're in the dugout.

Tonight's batting practice session brought to you by Anthony Reyes, Brad Thompson, Josh Hancock, Tyler Johnson, and Braden Looper. Good game guys.

True, but before last tonight in 20.1 postseason innings, they'd combined to give up exactly 1 run. After last night, they've now given up 10 runs.

Weell, tonight's game postponed due to rain.

This should actually be a break for the Cardinals. Carpenter pitches better at home, so you'd think they'd skip Weaver and pitch Carpenter tomorrow night. Weaver also pitches better on the road, so he can go in game 6 at Shea.

The only down side is that I felt like the Cards had a better shot at getting to Glavine with his 40 year old arm on 3 days rest.

True. They hit some balls hard off Glavine in game one, but not only were they caught, they resulted in a double play more than once.

stlcardinals.com says they're sticking with Weaver for game 5. I guess they want Carpenter to pitch the potential series-clinching game... I don't know...

I maintain the Jered/Jeff switch-a-roo strategy could work. Jered was at the first game and everything!
