Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Cardinals take the series with a 6-5 series finale win.

Mulder sucked again. Trade him. Please.

Big game for Chris Duncan and Encarnacion had another good day at the play, got the ol BA up to .272.

39-26 (5-6 w/o AP)

Cards take the series opener from the Rockies 8-1.

6 run bottom of the 8th blew it open.

Marquis pitched very well. 1 run over 8 innings.

40-26 (6-6 w/o AP)

If you guys will pick up a chunk of his salary, I'm sure the Reds will be glad to take Mulder off your hands. He's a solid pitcher. He had these spells in Oakland. He'll be fine.

This has been about a season long spell thus far.

You've come to expect better from a guy in a contract year.

Cardinals take game two of the series 6-5.

Led 6-1 going into the 8th. Oye.

2 HRs for Encarnacion. Startin' to hit.

An actual solid start by Suppan! Will the wonders ever cease?!

41-26 (7-6 w/o AP)

Cards sweep the Rockies by winning 4-1.

Another great outing for Carpenter. 7 innings, 1 run, 4 Ks.

Rolen hit another HR.

42-26 (8-6 w/o AP)

As already documented by milohimself, the Cards got rocked tonight, 20-6.

Mulder started. Enough said.

42-27 (8-7 w/o AP)

The original guess on Pujols' return was 6 weeks, which would make it around or after the All-Star Break.

muchas gracias
so much for the home run record pace i guess.. still a stud though

Yep.

Just hope this thing doesn't nag him for a few years or the rest of his career like those silly obliques tend to do.

he could probly hit 350 and drop bombs with it nagging him, but i agree with you

Best news that'll come from this series.

Cards get ROCKED again by the White Sox, 13-5.

Marquis with a sparkling performance in giving up ALL 13 RUNS.

Aiiie.

42-28 (8-8 Pujols-less)

Didn't the Whtie Sox just beat the Reds 4 straight times? at least they can only beat us 3 times. :D

My Redlegs are terrible...................

My only joy can come from watching the Cards and Braves losing....................

 :banghead:

Pujols back in the starting lineup, tonight.

.500 record without him is about all you could ask for, but his return won't fix Mulder and Marquis giving up 22 runs.

Well that makes sense if he was hurt. He's been ridiculously horrendous his last several starts.

In the meantime, the Cards finally get a superb pitching performance and can't score a frickin' run.

Anthony Reyes gave up ONE HIT, a solo homer to Thome in the 7th. That's it. 1-0 White Sox win and sweep. They're the best team in baseball.

Pujols 0-4 in his return. Killed the ball in his first at bat, but according to Joe Morgan he did it with just his arms and is taking it easy the first few games back.

Can't say enough about Reyes. He should fill in admirably for Mulder and any other bum in the Cards' rotation.

42-29

Cardinals hammered once again, this time it was the Tigers' turn to tee off. 10-6 Tigers.

Carpenter took the beating tonight... gave up 7 in 7 while striking out 9.

Pujols went 4-4 with a walk and #26. Incredible.

The bats have come around, the pitching just sucks. With Suppan and Ponson pitching the remaining two games this weekend, no reason why the Tigers can't put up multitudes of crooked numbers.

42-30
