Did you see the game? I'll take announcers and analysts word for it that that was one of the worst refereed games in World Cup history. The US had two guys wrongly ejected. Pretty interesting stuff they analysts said about the ref. Some guy from Uruguay. Apparantley had some "officiating irrgularities" in the 1998 World Cup and was suspended fromthe 2002 World Cup altogether. FIFA also incorporates a cool referee review system, so they can keep bad refs in check. If the announcers called this one right, the guy will never ref another FIFA game again.

yeah the rest of the world knows its only a matter of time before we start dominating soccer. they just want to make sure that it aint this year so they paid off the refs.

he is too young. and yes he will probably be better the anyone you see play in this world cup. He is that good. He is dominant and is only 17. He will go play for a european club here soon and will become unstoppable.

ahh. He was amazing last year in MLS and he just turned 17 on june 2nd. he only played half the year in MLS since he was with his youth FIFA team the first half but he still tied his team in game winning goals (3) and game winning assist (6). When you watch Donovan out there and you see all the move he puts on people, that is what adu looks like, but just imagine it alot faster. Adu has blinding speed and with him, donovan, and beasley all being on the next world cup team, it is not out of reach to say US will dominate soccer in years to come.

I think it's stupid that an ejected player can't be replaced. Why let a referee with bad judgment ruin a game? Also, when a ref makes a good decision to eject somebody, why let the actions of one man ruin it for his team? I suppose if the NBA had those rules, Stackhouse would have been red-carded for his flagrant foul the other night, and the Mavs would have played 4 on 5 the rest of the game. I really enjoy watching the U.S. in the World Cup, but that is pretty much the only soccer I watch, and every time I watch a World Cup game I get several reminders of why I generally don't watch soccer.

yeah I would actually go to a soccer game if Adu was playing, and I wouldn't mind watching one either. He is that fun to watch.

Perhaps a better solution to the whole red and yellow stuff, would be to have a penalty box like in hockey. Rather than eject somebody for two yellows and ridiculously force his team to play a man down, send him to the box for a couple of minutes.

Another thing I have never understood is why the clock counts up. Having to do quick mental math to understand how much time is left makes the sport harder to watch. I think it would be better to count down and simply stop the clock when someone is injured. I think the concept of "extra time" is very silly. Why is the amount of time left in the game such a big secret?

actually i just read that he could have made it on the world cup team this year but Bruce Arena didn't really think that he had the experince yet. He did play on the mens national team and played in some world cup qualifiers, but just didn't make the team
