So Transocean insured that rig for way more than book value and are walking away with a $270 million profit caused by it's destruction! Well that is not going to be good PR, but this is what was being trumpeted at their earnings call.

Turns out that super high estimate by that professor early on was closer to reality than BP's original estimate.

The leak is releasing so much oil, it is the equivalent of an Exxon Valdez accident every 10 days... for now almost 60 days.



This is really ridiculous. We the people need to put a foot up the government's but to suspend the Jones Act and start treating this like the catastrophe it is.
