He hasn't had the authority to do a bunch of stuff he has already done, Barry plays by his own set of rules.

lol .. his comments about him "wanting to get his life back" may eventually cost him his job though...

That probably should cost him his job. Since the explosion they've acted as if they're more concerned about the oil than anything it's doing to the environment. That was a idiotic comment he made.

That and the new "point" man is the first senior exec to actually touch the oil that is hitting LA. He said actually seeing and touching it is "very emotional". Duh!

BP and Tony have bungled this much worse than I've ever dreamed they would.

Based on precedent I figured the Obama Administration would deem BP 'Too Big to Fail'

You got to look on the bright side, it's going to be a bad year for mosquitos on the gulf coast this year. :)

Hot Air Maine factory owner begs feds: Why aren’t you buying the oil barriers I’m churning out?

John Lapoint of Packgen in Auburn, Maine, says he’s got plenty of floating oil containment boom and can make lots more on short notice. There’s just one problem: no one will buy it from him.

He’s already had a representative from BP visit his factory and inspect his product. The governor of Maine, John Baldacci, visited the facility and made a video plea to no one in particular to close the deal. Maine Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins wrote a letter on May 21 to the secretary of the Interior, the administrator of NOAA, and the commandant of the Coast Guard to alert them to the existence of Packgen, their supply of boom, and their demonstrated capacity to make more. I have no idea if those are the correct persons and agencies to notify about the manufacturing capacity and the availability of boom. One wonders if the senators know.

you would at least think States would be buying them and charging the cost back to BP as part of the clean up effort

This is what I've been saying for a while - why wait for BP to do everything? We can mobilize tons of resources (people, supplies, assets) and charge it to BP. If they default, it's still a more legit use of Fed funds than 1/2 the spending coming out of DC.

How you can claim to be fully in charge and responsible then outsource everything but approval to a single company is beyond me.

How do you guys expect a man to be training for his prize fight with a pasty CEO and formulating effective response strategies all at the same time. Let the man finish his ass whoopin' first.

BPs stock is just getting hammered right now. At $32 with no bottom in sight

it's only going to get worse with obama trying to show he gives a crap. they really should cut the dividend though. at least to show they're trying to reserve enough to pay for the spill.

He's gotta wait til his brother gets home.

obama administration now wants bp to pay for lost wages from workers on the rigs that are going to be effected by obama's ban on off shore drilling. unbelievable.

Is anything stopping BP from withdrawing from their previous statements and stick to the $75M cap, simply besides bad PR? I don't believe Obama can just lift it. I guess that's why he already started the criminal negligence case.

yeah he can't void the cap unless they can prove criminal negligence.
