And that has what bearing on what happens now or going forward? Absolutely none unless the players and coaches let it. If you learn from the past and change... you don't have to repeat it.We've lost 9 years in a row,
only won twice in Gainesville since 1971 iirc. Peyton, the best quarterback in our school's history never beat them when we had championship teams and talent around him. I was half joking about Montana... but I think I'm right

UF played very poorly. Besides that... IMO, Muschamp is a poor HC.
This is one of the reasons I've continued to say that UT cannot have an "average" coach and hope to get back to the top. The history you bring up is really only relevant after divisional play began. Between 72 and 91 UT only played 3 games in G'ville. And.... there is no question that Spurrier almost always outcoached Fulmer in a big way. Even in games where UT probably had the better team, Spurrier intimidated and beat Fulmer... often by big scores.
Fulmer was a pretty good coach in the first half of his career though the SEC was a weaker conference overall. It will take a better coach than Fulmer to get UT back to the top.
HELL no!!! We will NOT beat Mizz and vandy will likely beat us again. Right now only wins the rest of the year are possibly S Alabama and KY. 4-8 is our finish this yr. No bowl. Next yr we will be lucky to go bowling with a 6-6 record IF we get a decent QB!!
They weren't good last year and ARE NOT significantly better this year.
Gross incompetence from the HC and DC gave Mizzou that game last year. It should have been a 30 pt laugher for UT based on talent.
Vandy is still Vandy. Last year was an easy schedule combined with a down UT program... nothing more.
Vandy is not the Vandy of old. They went from winning 2 games a year to a 6 and 9 win season. They've been playing the same teams they've always played. The whole easy schedule thing is BS. They have the best coach they've had since WW2. Are they going to win the SEC east anytime soon, no but going to a bowl game every year is a real possibility now. All that being said, go Vols and hopefully this season gets better.

Oh, you mean the same Vandy that barely beat that powerhouse UMass on Saturday. It the same team that was getting blown out 28-0 at South Carolina before the Gamecocks eased off the throttle and let them back in the game?
I'm not saying Vandy is as easy as win as "the old Vandy".... they're clearly better than they've ever been (which ain't sayin much) and UT pretty much sucks at this point. But don't come on here talking anything remotely close to Vandy smack cause they blow.
You are aware that UMASS has only been at the FBS level for 2 years right? And they've only beaten one FBS opponent (actually just one opponent period) in those two years (Akron).
Vandy won by 17 points! It wasn't a great performance by no means but Vandy was never behind in the game and completely controlled the second half. I watched the entire game.

Now that the all to predictable meltdown has subsided a bit, just wanted to speculate a little.
We need at least 6 wins to go bowling, correct? I think getting to a bowl, ANY BOWL, would be huge for the team, the staff, and of course recruiting.
So how do we get there?
Assuming we get our third win on saturday, we need at least 3 more.
GA - L
USC - L
AL - L
Mizzou - W
Auburn - L
Vandy - W
KY Jelly - W
If Worley can improve some (PLEASE!) I think we beat KY and Mizzou, the sixth win is tall order though. Auburn and Vandy are home games soooo....??
.
Holy crap the sky is falling!!!!!! Have some faith.
I don't see Missouri being a "winnable" game anymore then Auburn or Vandy. I'll just point out one thing for Missouri--they were doing pretty well prior to changing conferences. The one reason they sucked last year was because their QB and RB (both good players) were banged up. Tennessee, where this program is now we can't take any team for granted except the Austin Peay/South Alabama type opponents.
