I can count on one hand how many times we blitzed! The defense was horrible!

Definitely the defensive staff as a whole is bad. But some of it is on heupel. Every coach has these little tendencies that kind of make them what they are. It’s really hard to second-guess huepel because this team has become so good so fast. But one thing that is a obvious tendency of his is that he seems to prefer experience perhaps over talent. There are some former 4 star defensive backs in the roster but you mainly see the more veteran guys playing. Neither flowers of mcollough are good at all. And there have perhaps been faster (more talented linebackers) behind guys like Beasley that just haven’t gotten a chance to play.

Butch Heupel showed his stubbornness last year by keep trotting Milton out as QB when we all knew Hooker was a better fit at the time. Chances are he will want to stick by Banks too.

I watched Hooker in spring. He was terrible. Literally everyone that coveted Tenn said Milton was the clear favorite.
Also, calling Heupel Butch is quite the overreact.

We couldn’t get pass rush, db’s were in good spots but couldn’t finish, safeties were and always have been terrible
