Heupel had major problems with his DC at UCF and was criticized by fans saying he was completely disconnected from the defense. He was spared having to fire Randy Shannon because he got the Tennessee job.

Is this a Jimmy and Joe problem, or is this a failure to scheme and coach the talent that’s here? UT will be ranked in the bottom 5 of 130 teams in pass defense after this game. What is the long term solution?

I'm not saying that you don't look. But our biggest concern is athletes. Our defense is not good. I asked earlier name me a difference maker on defense. I love all of them but thus defense is not good. The offense masked alot if this early to mid season and it's worse when we go on the road.

Granted it is not Alabama or Georgia elite talent but the Talen on our Defense is at least mediocre SEC level and there is no excuse for what happened tonight we were out of position all night, we did not make plays, the scheme was terrible, the game plan was terrible, the execution was terrible, the defensive coaching staff except for Rodney Garner needs to be fired case close end of discussion! If Josh Heiple wants to be here long term he needs to make the move!

It’s hard to gauge how good of a coach his is with the current defensive backs we have. I mean none of these guys are good enough to be starters at a power 5 school. They are just not athletic enough to get the job done.

No the biggest concern is not athletes the biggest concern is the coaches don’t know what the f*^+ to do! South Carolina runs a basic pro style offense and we had no clue all night long it is absolutely inexcusable every coach on defense except for Rodney garner should be fired immediately!

I have never been impressed with our defense. Talent is definitely not there so we need that for sure but the coaching has sucked BIG TIME. Never have been a fan of Banks and Martinez is a complete idiot. They both need to be fired for the crap they have produced on the field this year.
