Not having Jeremy Banks really hurt tonight. But the strategy on the defensive side was bad as well. Especially in the 2nd half It seemed like we only rushed 4 every play. SC leads the SEC in turnovers. To me that screams pressure Rattler and the playcalling tonight didn't seem interested in that at all. Has dropping all but 4 into coverage worked at all this year?

I agree that the talent is not what it needs to be on the defensive side, but it’s not all Jimmy’s and Joe’s fault. At some point, a coach has to say I have this level of talent, and to give them the best chance of success we need to do this. Our defensive coordinator and DB coach has not done that once. The defense is as bad today as they were the first meaningful game. That’s on coaching, not the players.

Seriously? Get out here with that garbage. Rattler had thrown 8 TDa all year. 6 tonight. SC had lost multiple players to injury. This was as clear a picture that our DC sucks donkey balls, and you come with, “it’s hard to gauge……”. What? What? What in the mother loving hell are you talking about?? Good friggin grief.

It doesn’t matter who the “difference makers” are on the defense all you have to do is play assignment football against the pro style offense and you keep them off the field and we did not do that all night long once again go study some Ex’s & Oh’s of football

Talent was not the problem tonight. When they are consistently running wide open underneath that's coaching dropping your DB so far back that you consistently give up yards. Man in motion continuously left uncovered. Just a piss poor coaching job on both sides of the ball

Again you didn't answer. I'm willing to give the coaches some blame but we don't have many options in defense.

I'll give you an out you agree that our athletes are not where they should be and I'll say the coaches need to do more to help them. This defense has been less than average in fact just not good for most of the season

Like someone else said, at end of the season, Heupel will have to make some decisions. After Dabo getting blown out by WVU realized he needed to upgrade his defense over Steele and he found Venables. Heupel has to look around also and see if he can upgrade over Banks. For sure, there are better secondary coaches than Martinez and I’d be shocked if he is still here next year.

The solution is to recruit 2 corners like SC has. #5 needs to take a hike not for him getting beat all night but for running his mouth all night. We need a DC that can recognize that rushing 4 ain't going to work before it's to late. We need a D B coach teach press coverage. We need anybody that can teach our DBs to recognize pass patterns instead of looking in the backfield. We need to teach some of our players humility.
I'm going to bed and hope I can sleep but before I lay down i'm going to pray for Hendon!

I agree but my contention is that he has not to this point taken over and struck fear in anyone. Doesn't mean he won't. My contention is that no one on defense is making Offensive Coordinators stay up late

We have gotten commits from db's who are a good bit faster than the safeties we now have.McCollough and Flowers.are good players,but,we could use more speed.to get.to the deep sideline cover.We appear to always be a step slow.
