Oklahoma vs WV

Rwemyss, seems to me like what you are missing is the fact that the ball was going the opposite direction of the WVU player, and when he attempted to pick it up, changed its course forcing it into the endzone, making him responsible for it's change of direction. That's how I see it anyway.

What I want to know is, did anyone else think about the PR that was muffed against USC by OU on that one? Looked almost identical. Me and my buddy still call that the dumbest play we've ever seen.
Article two quoted by HawaiiVol clearly states that it doesn't matter if the direction is changed when it touches a player of the other team, the person who "kicked, passed, snapped, or fumbled" the ball is still responsible for it.
I was referring to your fumble by the O getting knocked back into the endzone not turning into a touchback, it would be a safety.

Since the OU returner muffed the ball, then it got knocked into the endzone by WV, then recovered by OU, it's a touchback. If he had caught it, then fumbled with the same sequence of events, it would have been a safety.

Please don't make me read more! I learned enough already! :)

I know. I was just trying to then apply article two to the player on the kicking team who touched the ball... in what way did he "kick, pass, snap, or fumble" the ball to establish that he was "responsible" for its motion. :) I'm just trying to make you guys think about this. It isn't a very clear rule, and I don't think the end result of the play was fair. He muffed the punt, his own player recovered and ran out of the back of the endzone, so they retain possession and get it at the 20?!?! That's crap.

Momentum. West Virginia recovering an onsides kick is not what made Darius Reynaud and Noel Devine faster than everyone else.

Well then why did they not score the first 2 possessions of the second half. And better yet, why call something that statistically is not going to work in your favor and gives a team you are on a 10-0 run on the ball on your 40?

WR runs fail frequently. West Virginia's coaching staff is moronic for trying that end around to Darius Reynaud.

As for not scoring, I'd say WV was probably a little out of sorts following half time. They appear to have gotten back into focus now.

You are now confusing me with your confusion, stop it.

The bold part appears to all have happened after the stupid onside kick call.

Props to hatvol for calling this back when the bowl games were announced, when everyone was thinking OU should be in the national championship

Holy **** he's fast. It's just that though, his acceleration is 2nd to none IMO.

While most good RBs are like sports cars, Devine is like a testarosa or something
