Oklahoma vs WV

Props to me for earning close to two grande by going with the Mountaineers. It's about time people start realizing that a fragile secondary will cost OU almost every time when playing a disciplined, high octane offense (Missouri being the exception).

Holy **** he's fast. It's just that though, his acceleration is 2nd to none IMO.

While most good RBs are like sports cars, Devine is like a testarosa or something

Devine just said on the sideline that if OU had not failed in the onsides attempt he would not be able to run that fast.

Comparing failed WR runs to failed onside kicks is ridiculous.

About as ridiculous as acting as if kicking the ball normally would have made much of a difference. How many 40 yard plays do the Mountaineers have now?

Make fun if you like, it was a stupid call and actling like it wasn't is stupid as well. Second half prior that call WVU equals zero points. After the call WVU equals 28 points.

Makes better since than what he called. Please describe the second half pre and post onside kick if you get a chance.

You mean West Virginia managed to score some points in the second half after scoring 20 in the first half? Unbelievable.

You mean the onside kick was going to save OU? Were they going to onside kick the rest of the game? And why did they not do it on every previous kick?

Are you being sarcastic? If they did it on every kick, they would stand no chance to recover it. They had a chance on that one play because WV wasn't expecting it. Unfortunately, it wasn't executed very well, particularly by the kicker.

I'll say it again. OU's defense is not stopping WV. They aren't going to stop them. Stopping them a couple of times at the start of the third quarter is not evidence to the contrary. Either aggressively go after points or lose. The onsides kick is going to be the difference between losing by 10-14 and losing by 17-24. It's still a loss. I'd rather just try to win.

So trailing team should always onside kick. Brilliant.

If you have no defense, you damn well better do something to try to get your offense more chances.

Thanks for keeping the argument classy. You always do.

WV wasn't expecting it? OU executed it well? And WV recovered it? I am thoroughly confused by this description.

Yes I was being sarcastic.

SO you can't stop an offense, so you give them an even shorter distance to travel?

They were down by 5 and in the game. Still say it was a stupid call.

WVU wasn't expecting it. If OU kicked an onsides every time, they would obviously expect it and OU would never get it.

Mistype. They didn't execute it well. Looking at the score now, I'd say it was a rather clairvoyant call.

No looking at the score now, it is a completely irrelevant call.

Looking at the score down by 5, it was a stupid call. Stoops is suppsoed to be a defensive guru. Supposedly halftime adjustments were made, OU came out and shut WVU down on their first 2 possessions. There should have been a feeling of, we made some good defensive changes. Not, we're effed, after cutting the lead to 5.

Most of WVU's scoring plays would have scored if they were run from the 99 yards away from the endzone. OU can't stop them no matter where WV starts up.
