Oklahoma

Our game pretty much depends on which OU team shows up. The one that played Texas or the one that played Bama. Here's hoping Rocky Top trumps Sooner Boomer.

We're definitely the underdogs going into that game, but anything can happen in football. Playing good teams stinks when you lose, but it can also battle harden your players and make your team better. Experience is valuable.

Oklahoma is one of those teams that you really don't know what to expect. One day they're barely beating Cincinnati and getting manhandled by Texas and the next they're beating Alabama.

We have no chance to beat Oklahoma, and a lot of our fans are not very smart. There, now it's only 35 more times.

Really? No chance?

Im not saying we win but I think they will surprise and stay within 2 scores if not 1. I definitely dont think they are oregon 2.0

So freggin what? Hope they are in the playoffs... with that 1 BIG LOSS TO UT blaring all over the TV every time they speak of OK.

We beat a top 5 team last year... To say it can not happen again is just retarded

I hate Bama too but if you think OU would beat them like that again I have a bridge to sell you. Bama was/is much better than OU.

This. Top to bottom Bama was/is better. I enjoyed watching them lose as much as anyone, but they really didn't show up for that bowl game to play and it showed.

The much respected Phil Steele just commented that he expects Oklahoma to be in the final 4 of this years innaugural playoff system, yet we have some wizards on here that think we will go to their house and pull out a victory. My goodness.

It's a football game, anything can happen.

I watched a lot of the Oklahoma games last year. Oklahoma isn't as good as what you saw in the Bama game.

I'm not saying it was a fluke, but yeah...

Y'all don't understand Oklahoma. All their chokes - literally all of them - under Stoops have been on the road. Stoops has lost 5 games in Norman, ever. And he's definitely not going to lose in Norman to an SEC team. He's going to talk s*** all spring, all summer, during the game, and after the game, about how overrated the SEC is, and use the overhyped SEC story to motivate that team to humiliate Tennessee. They probably have no idea who their other non conference opponents even are at this point, because this is the only game they have circled. Combine that with UT being basically all sophs and freshmen, and this will be way ugly. I expect OU to look sloppy against La Tech, maybe win by 14, and then take two weeks off, come back and blow UT sky high. Tennessee might score 14, 17 tops if they get some turnovers, but something like 47-10 OU seems more realistic.

Both. I've had tickets to Oklahoma games for all or part of 22 seasons, now live in knoxville and have season tix to vols for three years. In an ideal world, OU beats UT in the title game by a point in overtime. But that's not realistic this year, so I'm pulling for the Vols to go 12-1 while being realistic that it'll probably be 5-7. OU being the far better team, I'm pulling for 13-0 Sooners with a 92-2 victory over LSU in the playoff final.

And you dont think UT will be just as motivated?

They can only play eleven at a time. Oklahoma's eleven on each side of the ball beat them. I am tired of vol fans making excuses for them. They are not invincible and any of the top teams can beat one another. They played a good team and got beat. Oklahoma doesn't have to beat them again.

the one thing I do like is OU is replacing their entire defensive backfield except for 1 inconsistent player and only 1 returning wr...but they do have 4 sr's on the OL
and the front 7 have a lot of playmakers back...

To everyone saying Alabama would of mopped the floor with OU had it been for the title I have this to say. Bama wasn't that good last year.

I think the starting QB for the game will be an important factor in determining whether they fare well against the Soons. With an entirely new OL on the road for their 1st big contest against a top 15 ranked opponent, the last thing you want is your QB to put you in a hole early on. If Worley plays like he did just before he got hurt, the pressure will be on the defense to perform. I'm more worried about the defense than Worley.

I do not expect us to win (well I always go in thinking well his and that) but OU always underperforms to a point. ALABAMA game, they just couldn't miss. IF OU plays to there potential, we will prob get blown out of the stadium. That's just the truth. BUT if we get some TO and find an identity on the OL AND DL, we could give them all they want. That said, I will decide that after we play USU week one on SUNDAY night football
