I agree with @ArdentVol here. Some saw that 6’4” grown ass man frame and knew his potential was extreme.

Everyone has potential at the D1 level, especially in the SEC. Rick Ankiel had potential as a MLB pitcher after being one of the top minor league pitching prospects but he had an epic crash out and had to switch to being a position player. You just really never know until you see how someone performs against equally talented competition.
