Well let’s just not even play the damn games then because it shouldn’t matter when you lost. Ole Miss lost to a team that is about to be 1-7 in the SEC and won’t even make a bowl game. Not our fault they lost to the second worst team in the conference. Arkansas and Vanderbilt are a wash and we beat Alabama but they beat Georgia so that’s a wash. Georgia lost to Alabama, beat us, and beat Texas so they win the tiebreaker. Rank Alabama and Tennessee wherever as long as they right next to each other. If everyone beats everyone then you are suppose to look at their worst loss. The fact remains that Ole Miss has the worst loss of the group and it’s not even debatable, and that should be the tiebreaker.Ole Miss is in over us because their losses were earlier in the year than ours and they had that impressive win over Georgia.
Had we beat Alabama 28-10 instead of 24-17 and Florida by 2-3 TDs, perhaps we would have more of an argument.
It is controversial and I think Tennessee has an argument but I can see the logic in picking Ole Miss. Let's hope Florida beats them and this conversation ends.

And the eye test said Kentucky beat Ole Miss AT HOME. Ole Miss literally gave that team their ONLY conference win. I’m sorry but as impressive as the Georgia win was, the Kentucky loss was just as equally unimpressive so those cancel each other out. Meaning Ole Miss should be the odd man out right now. Could you imagine Ohio State or Oregon losing to Maryland or Purdue? Because that’s exactly what happened to Ole Miss.I see your arguments but it is eye test. Tennessee barely beat Alabama at home and needed OT to beat Florida (I think Florida is a big win now).
Ole Miss beat Georgia 28-10. It wasn't close. They just looked like a more impressive team overall.
This is where we have been hurt by our offense. If you are going to squeak out wins, you need to win all your games (or all but 1). People get impressed by 45-10 type blowouts whether we want to admit it or not.
Tennessee has had a great season. We beat Vanderbilt, we are 10-2. Great record. If we miss playoffs, we miss playoffs. Tough year.

If we’re going eye test then South Carolina looks pretty damn good. I guess we should let them in the playoff too. At some point the results on the field and the quality of competition has to matter. All things are equal, Ole Miss has the worst loss. It’s not that difficult.
Ole Miss didn’t have to play Alabama or Texas or Tennessee. They only Played one of the top 6 teams. Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee have all played more difficult schedules. Throw another top SEC team on Ole Miss’s schedule and see if they still only have 2 losses.
Espn loves them some stale piss. They're the hot team with a offense that puts up points. Got to hope UF nukes their season this weekend..
Who is Ole Miss’s other top 6 game against? I’m having a hard time seeing it on their schedule. I see they played South Carolina but they are 7th in the conference right now. So please help me find that other top win they have because I don’t see it. Ole Miss is the only team in the top 6 that will not have played 2 top 6 teams. As I said before, give them Texas, Alabama, or Tennessee in addition to that Georgia game and let’s see if they still would only have 2 losses right now.Tennessee got to play Oklahoma, Arkansas, Miss State, and Kentucky. That is 4 teams with losing records.
Tennessee also played Florida and Vandy who are near (Florida still needs 1 more win) or plan to be around .500.
Tennessee's only major ranked opponents have been Alabama and Georgia. We are in the same boat as Ole Miss.
Could but not likely.. Their offense is a mess and can't sustain drives. They'd need Bama to give them the ball a few times and shorten the game..Ole Miss or Notre Dame losing would pretty much put Tennessee in. We need to cheer for both.
Another laughable upset potential is Oklahoma over Alabama. Oklahoma has looked very bad so far but they still have athletes. If they can find something they haven't had all year, it could happen.
Just because you didn’t watch the Ole Miss losses doesn’t mean they didn’t happen and/or weren’t on TV. Ole Miss looked good in the UGA game. That’s nice, but the season is 12 games long and the “eye test” needs to include all 12 if it’s going to mean anything.I see your arguments but it is eye test. Tennessee barely beat Alabama at home and needed OT to beat Florida (I think Florida is a big win now).

Their Kentucky loss was one week prior to our Arkansas loss. If theirs is out of sight, out of mind, then ours should be also.I get that but I am giving you what the playoff committee is thinking. The UK loss was almost 2 months ago now so it is probably out of sight and out of mind. I do think it may come up once push comes to shove and we are at the point when we are truly selecting teams.

Please. W/O the Tim Banks show this year, we are easy 4 losses. We are 8-2 right now cause we've only let 1 team score over 20 points. And Bobo earned his 34 points. Took advantage of a couple bad ref calls like he's supposed to. Put us away. Our offense is anemic, and our Freshman QB still plays like he did in the early season. No progression. Only flashes in the pan. After 10 games, he should be looking more seasoned, freshman or not. Bright future for him and for us having him, but they haven't got him to where he should be at this point in the season. If we close out at 10-2, and we should if we don't sleep on Vandy, that will be the biggest gift of the college season.Alabama game says hi
We wouldn’t have beaten Georgia in Knoxville. Sorry, but Georgia has our number. We played a good first quarter and then got dominated the rest of the game.
Committee will choose Bama over Us because of Bama bias. Its what we get for our offense not passing the eye test in many of our games. We beat bama, but didnt look good doing it. Should have been ahead of them by multiple scores going into the half. That is our only good win on our resume. Bama went into a ranked LSU game at night and beat the absolute breaks off them. Doesnt help them that Florida beat LSU soundly on Saturday, but LSU will still be ranked come Tuesday night. We need Florida to beat Ole Miss, Texas A&M to beat Texas, and Ohio State to beat the breaks off Indiana. But given the outcome of everything, Tennessee will be the first team out of the playoffs with Bama an 11 or 12 seed. And we beat Alabama and going to beat Vanderbilt so we can use that argument against Alabama
