Sorry about the timing I was going off of where I live. But it should only take 4-4 1/2 hours from Sea-Tac to Eugene. Also lots of cool stuff along the way.

I've never bought away tickets before so I am wondering how difficult it will be to purchase tickets through UTs allotment, how much the tickets will be, and when they will be available?

Their tickets last year seemed to be between $66 and $93. Being a "marquis" OOC game I'd say closer to $93.

This is my 1st year with season tickets...do we get a chance 1st for away tickets? Not sure of all the perks. Thanks

When they send out the paperwork/email to buy your tickets, there will be a section for away games, and state how many tickets for each game you're allowed to request. Then it's all based on donor ranking for location/ and if you get tickets. FWIW I've never not gotten tickets for an away game I've requested.

When was the last time you requested away tickets and which games were they? I thought the last couple years at least a few tickets to most if not all the away games made it all the way to sale to the general public, but there's certainly a chance I'm mistaken. Since Autzen is such a small stadium, I don't know what UT's allotment will be. Typically it's around 10% of the total stadium capacity for SEC games. If that's the case here, I'd be kind of surprised if UT sells 5-6K tickets. That's a long trip and a lot of money in a poor economy to watch a game that UT has little to no shot at winning.

You're correct about tickets going on sale to the general public on quite a few occasions in recent history.

Last year we had tickets for NC State, Mississippi State, and Vandy. The three years prior to that I had tickets to every away game. And the year before that we went to UGA, S. Carolina, and Vandy. I would imagine everyone will probably get them that requests them, unless a surprising number of people have been planning a Northwest Vacation around this game.

In 2011 the Florida game was sold to general public. I don't think it will be an issue getting Oregon tix.

I've got everything booked. Looking forward to it. Where are the Vol get-togethers in Eugene on gameday?

Air from DFW to Portland,OR is a surprisingly low $309 per right now. Booked our flight today. Staying 2 nights in Portland with friends, then 2 nights in B&B on the Oregon coast. Game tix are running about $150 per in the TN section on StubHub. So...

$620 airfare for 2
$300 game tix for 2
$200 hotel room for 2 nights
$150 for rental car
$200 food & beverage for 4 days

Not a bad vacation at $1500 total for a Wed. - Sun. in the Pacific NW.

(Adding a new gameday experience & watching the Vols win @ Oregon = priceless.)

We had originally planned to stay in Eugene, Wednesday-Wednesday, but decided to stay in Portland instead. Will just be in Eugene for the weekend.

Trip for two was around 1500--tickets, air, hotel and rental car costs. Spending $ will be substantial, I'm sure.

Thanks to our quacking visitors, as your insight has been extremely helpful.

We are staying in Albany Fri and Sat night, then Portland on Sun night.

Tix out of Memphis last week were $347/seat. Not bad.

We're staying in Albany as well. Driving up to St. Louis to fly out of there though.

the vols alum are having a get together in the Duck Walk tailgate area across from Autzen Staduim

Read about that & excited for it.

Seems that there is an indoor "beer garden" pre-game tailgate with live music on campus in the football practice facility game day. AND you can get a pass-out to head back there for half time brews.

My question is: how can they get away with serving alcohol on campus? Wish we could do the same in Thompson–Boling. That would be awesome.

It all depends on the conference.
Obviously the Pac-12 doesnt have the same alcohol restrictions as the SEC.

I know that at FSU you can buy liquor drinks in the stadium.

That said, can you imagine the insanity if SEC stadiums served liquor inside the game?

People would die.
