Orson Charles (announcing at 4:30 pm EST)

You guys are underestimating Stocker. I promise you that.

Oh I have no doubt that with the new S&C program along with his natural build, Stocker will be a beast. Leave Warren to do all the receiving.

If I was running out of the backfield and had one person to block for me I would hope it would be someone who is 6-6 250+

Forget about Stocker or trying Warren at tight end. No one has even mentioned Aaron Douglass. He didnt play last year because of a shoulder injury. He is our tight end of the future. Amazing athlete with unlimited potential.

That's right, all the early reports say Douglas isn't going to be the long-term TE for Kiffin.

He'll most likely be on the O-line from here on out.

Douglas to the OL would help everyone out....He is agile enough to be a good one....now does he have a nasty streak?

hey volnation, i'm a long time browser first time poster...i feel like things have been pretty quiet with this kid for awhile and i thought he was supposed to announce last week...i'm wondering if any of you guy's feel like this extra delay could possibly be good for us especially given the fact that he's already taken his visit and he clearly was not impressed enough to sign. i ask this because while brown and oku would be more statement pick-ups, i feel like charles fills a more pressing need especially in kiffin's offense so of the three he might make the biggest immediate impact, any thoughts or am i just way off here?

Sounds like our chances are just as good as anyone elses.

Yeah. He was pretty solid for us last year. He only had one really bad game. Everyone sort of wrote him off after that, but he didn't disappoint again.

I remember him being nothing better than inconsistent last year. I hope he turns it around because he dropped passes WAYYY to often.

p.s. he also felt some heat because he was dropping passes while Brandon Warren was either being used to block or was on the sideline.

He's visiting USC next weekend. I would assume he will choose a school shortly thereafter.

He dropped a lot of passes against UAB, or someone crappy like that. He was reliable other than that. He was the only player on offense that even showed up to play against Florida.

I agree with kpt. Stocker is a beast and Kiffin will find ways to get him the ball for sure.

Per Hubbs...
First, I just spoke with Orson Charles who is going to USC this weekend. After that visit he will narrow it to two schools and plans to announce his choice on March 6th. I will have a full update in a little bit, but Tennessee is definitely in it at this point.

Man I want Orson Charles bad.. worse than BB. This is the type of guy we need. We have nobody on the roster like him.

I think him visiting USC will be a good thing for us. This is all just an opinion, but I think distance and the chance to play in the SEC will be what doesn't make him commit to USC. However, when he is visiting USC, he will basicly see again how he fits into the Pro Style offense that USC runs, and what we will be running. He will also hear from Pete Carroll about how the "hybrid TE" garbage that CMR is feeding him is worthless. All in all, I still think he ends up at UGA, but this visit to USC only helps reaffirm what he would be doing as a Vol.

I also want charles more than BB. Tennessee can use all the wr/te we can get. Lennon Creer, Hardesty, and Poole are plenty for now.

there's a new article about charles on rivals that mentions the vols in the title...can anyone with an account summarize the content

Of all the recruits we are still in the mix with, this is the one that I have the best feeling about. Something just tells me he will be wearing orange and white next year.

yea i think its between us and usc i think he likes us more then uf and uga and is just waiting to see what usc is like
