Voltilifall,
Ouch, that stings a tad. In reality, SC has dominated SoCal for a decade in recruiting. Too much has been made over the few minor victories by ***LA. The little, gutty Ruins have years of futility to make up for before they can seriously compete with SC. I would say that SC probably got 9 out of 10 of their target recruits in California before this year. This year, perhaps they got 8 out of 10. The only one that is really surprising is Morell Pressley.
Ironically, the loss of MP is the very reason SC got involved with Orson Charles. I guess, ultimately, everything comes full circle. When Charles discovered the fact that SC only became interested when they lost Presley, he had every right to say F and U. However, his response was a surefire sign he was extremely interested in SC. He had no animosity whatsoever.
The guy that ***LA fans make a big deal about switching is Randall Carroll. Simply put, overrated is not a strong enough word to describe this dude. When Pete Carroll told him he could thrive at corner, he seemed to be on board. However, Slick Rick convinced him to play WR, and the rest is history. Forget the fact that the kid couldn't catch a VD at a Tijuana donkey show, let alone catch a football. But, this a recurring theme in college football. Everybody wants to play WR. Nobody wants to play corner. That's why so many defenses last year were so pathetic. Possibly the worst in CFB history.
Now Teo, what a shock. But, don't get me started on that. I can devote a whole thread on all the juicy gossip there. The two for one package regarding Roby Toma, the statement by Chow dissing SC, Manti saying he wants to be a part of "building a dynasty, not being just another part of an existing one", etc.
Now Bruno, I am still confident. But, if you want to talk about blatant homerism, look at the UGA boards. They make it sound like a done deal. I have said it many times, but for the sake of being redundant, how about one more? If he wanted to go to UGA, why not commit weeks ago? Something about the situation there rubbed him wrong. Hopefully, one of our programs will reap the benefits.
Peace
