Other Games: Tonight is the night...

They are such a clutch team, and they play their best in the big moments.

SC was in this, but couldn't get anything from their perimeter players and couldn't get stops when they needed them.

Full credit to UConn. Great game by Gabby.

the talent but not the high bball IQ that Geno seeks after. The girls on Uconns team are smart.

They are smart because coaching. Geno knows the game better than any other coach & he knows how to get the best out of his players every game. They never lack effort.

They never lack effort, but they are also clutch as all hell. They play with composure, all the time. And they pass the ball so well that they just wear you down.

As long as Geno is around I don't see them losing a step. I honestly think it's a boring brand of basketball they play because it's so systematic but it works.

You think it's boring because they pass with clinical precision, play perfect team defense, and are skilled shooters?

You should watch the first quarter of the Texas-FSU game if you prefer the rugby style, brick laying brand of basketball.

Man you think UCONN is great this year, next year they are going to be even BETTER. Just like the analyst just said they get 6'6 Stevens, #1 recruit Megan Walker not to mention the return their whole starting 5. Going to be super scary. I don't see any team or coach taking them down in the upcoming years. Crazy thing is Tenn Lady Vols have the talent just not the coaching staff to match up with Geno.

Is it too early to start thinking about 200 in a row? And sadly, I'm not exaggerating....

Next year, the Huskies lose to the LVs in the NCAA championship game by 65 points, as the LV set an NCAA by shooting 100% from the field (including 30 for 30 from behind the arc). I saw it in a vision!!!!!

Yes, I have been drinking - tainted absinthe and lead tinged moon shine-- why do you ask?

They are one injury...err...make that two injuries away from getting a loss. To do what they did without their floor general Nurse the whole game was impressive.

More like 5 injuries away.

Dangerfield didn't score much, but she did a great job penetrating and dishing.

Honestly when the lady vols entire team is playing with all out effort & passion I'll take them over any team in the country. I still think if they don't lose early to a cupcake team in the tournament they can make it to the final four this year.

In the tourney it's more about match ups than talent when you get to the E8 and beyond. By that time no one needs motivation to play & the talent/skill level/coaching is fairly comparable. FF would be really tough this year for them I think mainly because they are likely to run into a high scoring team on the way and it's hard to know if Jackson, Middleton, & Reynolds are gonna show up. E8 I could buy.

When the Big 3 show up, the LVs can hang with almost anybody. Too often, though, we only have a Big 2. If the Big 3 show up in the SECT and NCAAT, the LVs can make a run. If we have a Big 2 game, it probably won't end well.

I agree with you but i think the formula is the Big 3 on their games, but against strong teams, they also need some tangible scoring contribution from another role player be it Jordan, Nunn, Middleton, and Jackson.

When you break down the odds, that is a lot of stars that have to repeatedly align but hope springs eternal!!!!

Three reasonably strong players with a role player should be able to get it done against most teams. Many good teams get it done with a star and four role players. I think a lot of it is the offense that is perimeter based with a force to the post. This team, for the past three years, seems to want to dribble/pass around the perimeter....a lot. They don't seem to exploit the high post except to set screens. They used to get good looks from 12 feet with Cierra and Izzie but not so much anymore. The few times they do get a shooter open in the key, they have been pretty successful if they didn't force it into a double or triple team.
