that is ok if it makes you feel better1
you are all over threads trying to convince everybody you are right and everybody else is not a true fan. you sound like the old Dooley drinkers on here. To be honest you are pathetic. Cause you see things in your orange colored glasses does not make it so. For the record I like BJ , just not so much of his best coaching staff in the country BS. Keep your head in the sand
I do not think so either. The thing that scares me is if we go 5-7 next season which is a possibility with all the youth that will be forced to play that Jones will have to make a change and be in the same situation that Dooley was in trying to hire a proven coordinator while he himself is not on firm ground.
we are getting better quality with stability! you may have to eat your words!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess awesome coaches lose to Vandy with two weeks to prepare.
keep rollin' rollin' rollin' these excuses out there.
Georgia Southern went into the swamp and won with way less talent. They actually coached their players.
UT had two weeks to prepare for Jordan Matthews, I mean Vandy, and still looked lost..
Big East football.
I am actually not worried about that unless he changes O systems in the process.
I still think the O will work itself out. If it doesn't, changing won't save Jones because they improvements won't come in time.
The D on the other hand could get better quickly with a coaching change should it be necessary. This D held only two opponents to under 20 pts this year. They could not stop... USA except for TO's. People complain about talent but it is pretty much the same as last year and better than the two years previous to that overall in terms of depth, athleticism, and maturity.
I know you think Vandy proved something... to me it proved only that UT was that much more athletic on D than Vandy was on O.
Suits me. I would love to see the coaching staff do a 180 next year and win a bunch of games they aren't expected to win. But nothing they've done this year suggests that's going to happen. Worse yet... virtually every excuse they've used... depth, talent, speed, athleticism, experience, etc... will get WORSE in '14.
I never thought fellow Vol fans could get on my nerves so much...In every aspect of the game there is so much negativity. Coaching sucks, current players give up and lack heart, our recruiting class won't stick...
Blah blah blah.
Why don't you shut up, grow some patience, and give this process some time?
Here's some news for you... Nick Saban's first year at Michigan state he went 6-5-1. His first year at Alabama he went 2-6.
Our beloved Johnny Majors went 4-7 and 5-5-1 in his first two years at Tennessee.
Les Miles went 4-7 his first year at Oklahoma State.
Pete Carrol went 6-6 his first year at USC.
Jim Tressel went 7-5 his first year at Ohio State.
Bobby Bowden went 5-6 his first year at Florida State.
The list goes on. This is a rebuilding process... We all know what Butch inherited from Dooley and Kiffin. I know we are Tennessee and I hear it all the time..."This is the University of Tennessee! This shouldn't be tolerated!"
You're right! And it isn't being tolerated... hence the changes being made albeit if the changes take some time to take affect.
The recruits are coming. Come NSD I will bet anyone on VN that we finish with a full class of at least 30 and have a top 10 class...possibly better.
Take a deep breath and remember as the old saying goes "The night is darkest just before the dawn."
WRONG . The team closed the regular season at 66 (44, SEC) and lost for a sixth-straight time to rival Auburn. The Tide defeated Colorado in the 2007 Independence Bowl 3024 to finish their first season under Nick Saban at a 76 (44) record
and FSU had a 429 record over the previous three seasons, before Bowden so he won more games there in his first season than the 3 seasons before I call that progress
Jim Tressel went 7-5 his first year at Ohio State.
Once they upset SC they had to know thay anything short of a bowl appearance would be considered a failure. As to who said no and why, I think it had more to do with the money on the table than anything else.

Here's the difference in Tressel, and I'm not a Tressel fan. But when he was announced as head coach he made an appearance at a basketball game and took the mic.
He made a promise to the fans that they would go to Michigan the next year, and they did.
7-5 might not be setting the world on fire but when deliver on a promise to beat Michigan and do it then you're a superstar in the fans' eyes.
