As good as you guys are I'm not sure you really "manhandle" anyone. The scheme is terrific however and yes your coaches do a great job of evaluating talent.
thats better im glad you found your crystal ball...i wont lie i cant see a scenario where palardy wins us a game unless it is an extra point
Realistically, it wouldn't surprise me if the coaches aren't devoting much time to gameplanning for Oregon. This game was scheduled back when we did all our Pac-10 home/aways which started in 2007. Back then, Oregon wasn't the Oregon of now and we weren't the UT of now.
We're just simply not in a position to compete at that level nationally and then turn around and play in Florida against another Top 10 team.
Coaches only have so much time to prepare and install our Off/Def and Oregon is such a departure in terms of Offense/Defense... Florida just makes more sense to gameplan against given they run a much more similar offense to just about every other team on our schedule.
So, long story short, I'm not expecting much. I'm not saying I don't think our team will compete. I think it will. I'm just saying the coaches, at least from a strategic point of view, in my mind will focus on more realistic and important games than @Oregon for the 2nd game of Jones' tenure.
And I'm also not saying Florida is an easier game... it's just a much more logical team to prepare for in terms of impact on recruiting, standing in the SEC and also how far it will carry fan opinion.
I'd far rather beat Florida than Oregon.
Oregon has a very good oline, and a very physical running game. For those of you who only think of Alabama when you think of "physical" running games, you should realize that both teams run their offenses around the inside zone.
I still don't believe they are all that physical of a team. They may look that way in Pac 10 but watching them against LSU and Auburn....not so much. Plus, Bama has backs that weigh about 40 pounds heavier than the Oregon backfield.
i would guess alabama's OL probably has about 40 lbs per person on oregon's OL as well...they look smaller and faster to keep the offensive pace that they run and i can't imagine they have 300+ pound linemen doing that. they are probably like 280 or something
I think we can pair up against them. If you look at each teams Rivals' rankings since 2010, it is as follows:
UT Ore
9 / 13
13 / 9
16 / 17
21 / 22
By all accounts, we have similar teams skill-wise. We were just severely undercoached for the last 4 years. There is no reason we can't hang with them...if not win. Don't be a bunch of negative Nancy's in here.

This game doesn't set up good for us. Just dont see our D making enough progress before this game.
Oregon is a run first team with a play action oriented passing game. I think we have the talen in the front seven to dramatically slow their run game down, and as long as that happens the play action won't be an issue.
I suspect it's because Oregon has verbals from some other recruits at that position such as Jalen Jelks 6'7" 250# with a ton of upside potential.
